Wooten was outrighted off the Brewers' 40-man roster Thursday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
The Brewers announced earlier in the day that Wooten would be optioned to Triple-A Colorado Springs, but it wasn't apparent until hours later that he had been outrighted off the 40-man roster. After being rocked for eight runs and posting a 6:6 K:BB ratio over six innings with the Brewers, the soft-tossing Wooten likely won't draw much interest from other teams via trade or waivers.

Thu Aug 15 201323:17Rob Wooten pitches perfect inning
Rob Wooten struck out two in a perfect inning Thursday and hasn't allowed a run in 11 innings since being called up by the Brewers.
If only the Brewers had received the kind of luck with the bullpen last year that they have this year, there's a great chance they would have been a playoff team. Wooten doesn't project as a closer or anything going forward, but he's had great success with his mid-80s cutter so far.
