Lennerton was released from the Tigers' organization on Friday, Chris Iott of MLive.com reports.
Lennerton posted a .242/.332/.390 slash line this season at Triple-A Toledo before his release. According to Iott, the Tigers needed to clear a spot on their Triple-A roster to promote Dean Green from Double-A Erie, which resulted in Lennerton's release.

If either Cabrera or Martinez are slowed by their injuries beyond Opening Day, Lennerton has an outside chance of earning a roster spot, but as a non-roster invite, he's more likely to end up back at Triple-A for 2015.
