Reed was optioned to Triple-A New Orleans on Wednesday.

Reed made two appearances for the Marlins after being recalled Saturday, throwing four total innings and allowing six hits and two earned runs. The 25-year-old will head back to Triple-A as Miami gives veteran Chris Narveson his first major league call-up of the year.

Reed made his major league debut Saturday and tossed a pair of scoreless innings during a loss to the Padres.

A first round pick for the Dodgers back in 2011, the lefty Reed will have a chance to contribute out of the Marlins' bullpen for the remainder of the season. He's worked exclusively as a reliever in 2015 and should be given ample opportunity to prove he belongs in the teams future plans.

Reed was recalled from Triple-A New Orleans on Saturday.

After a successful run with Triple-A New Orleans following a trade to the Marlins in mid-July, Reed will receive a promotion to the majors. He'll likely serve in middle relief for the club, but could receive a fair number of opportunities to pitch as the Marlins spend the remainder of the season evaluating their young talent.

Reed was traded from the Dodgers to the Marlins on Wednesday.

Reed was moved in a minor deal that brought Grant Dayton back to the Dodgers. He was assigned to Triple-A New Orleans following the trade, and will serve as organizational depth out of the bullpen for the Marlins.

Reed was demoted from Triple-A Oklahoma City to Double-A Tulsa in May, and in three appearances since that time, he's allowed 12 earned runs in just three innings of work.

Ouch. Reed had a 1.13 overall ERA as recently as May 16, but he's obviously either regressed or is nursing an injury.

Reed was promoted to Triple-A Oklahoma City after posting a 0.77 ERA and 13:5 K:BB in 11.2 innings of relief for Double-A Tulsa.

No longer thought of as a starter, Reed could carve out a nice career as a reliever. He should get a look in LA at some point this year.

A former first-round pick, Reed has been relatively slow to progress, but he did reach Triple-A for the first time last year, where he posted a 10.97 ERA in five starts. He's surely headed back there this season where he will need to perform well to avoid being converted to a bullpen role.

Reed has a 12.71 ERA in three starts since his promotion to Triple-A Albuquerque.

Cross Reed's name off the list of potential rotation options. He had a 3.22 ERA in 23 Double-A starts, so there's obviously something to like here.

Reed posted a 3.22 ERA and 1.23 WHIP over 137 innings with Double-A Chattanooga this season and the performance has earned him a spot with Triple-A. He is considered one of the better pitching prospects in the Angels system, and could find his way to the majors as a September call-up or at some point in the future.

The London-born, California-raised Reed has now made 48 appearances (43 starts) for the Chattanooga Lookouts, and could be in line for a promotion to Triple-A. The Dodgers have a loaded pitching rotation, so it is unlikely that Reed will make an appearance for the Dodgers before 2015.
