Maronde was reassigned to minor league camp Friday.
While the Tribe brought Maronde to big-league camp as a courtesy after designating him for assignment in December, he was destined to end up Triple-A from the start. That said, Maronde did fare pretty well in spring ball, giving up two runs on five hits and a walk with three strikeouts over 5.1 innings.

Marone has been extended a non-roster invite to attend the Indians' major-league camp for spring training, MLB.com reports.
Designated for assignment last week, Maronde predictably passed through waivers unclaimed and was then outrighted to Triple-A. He will still get a chance to compete for a roster spot in spring training, but the lefty has struggled at every level above High-A and appears destined to open 2015 with Columbus.

The Indians designated Maronde for assignment Tuesday.
Maronde struggled to the tune of a 12.79 ERA and 3.00 WHIP in 11 appearances with the Angels in the first half of 2014, so it wasn't a surprise that he pitched exclusively in the minors with the Indians after coming over in a trade just prior to the All-Star break. Considering his track record in the upper levels of the minor leagues (4.85 ERA at Double-A, 5.52 at Triple-A), it seems unlikely another team will take a flier on him while on waivers.
