James signed a minor league deal with the Tigers on Friday, Matt Eddy of Baseball America reports. |
James, released in June by the Phillies, dealt with a knee injury for much of 2014, which limited him to only nine games for Double-A Reading. He'll provide organizational depth for Detroit and will likely remain at the Double-A or Triple-A level for the duration of the season. |
