Lawley was released by the Mets on Wednesday, Adam Rubin of ESPN New York reports.

After collecting 26 home runs in 2013 and another 20 in 2014, Lawley has gone deep just six times this season with Double-A Binghamton. The lack of power added to his horrendous, .213/.256/.370 batting line was likely too much to swallow, and he's now hit the free agent market.
