James was signed by the Ravens on Tuesday.

Best known for his starring role on HBO's 'Hard Knocks', James played both cornerback and running back for the Texans during the preseason. The Ravens presumably just want to use him on defense, as the team's secondary is turning into a disaster for the second straight year.

James was given work as a running back in preseason Week 3, getting three carries for zero yards and had a 73-yard touchdown run nullified by a holding penalty Sunday night against the Saints.

James is a cornerback, but has showed something to head coach Bill O'Brien to make the coach consider using him as a running back. There's a good chance James will make the roster as a depth cornerback and special-teams contributor, so we may not have seen the last of his days on offense.

James made two good special-team plays in Saturday night's preseason game against Denver. He downed a punt inside the five-yard line and tackled a punt returner for a six-yard loss at the seven-yard line.

James, who was one of the stars in last week's episode of "Hard Knocks" on HBO due to his choice in socks, is bidding to make the team as a backup cornerback.
