West was designated for assignment Saturday, Eric Stephen of SB Nation reports.
West was removed from the 40-man roster to clear room for Brandon Beachy, who was reinstated from the 60-day disabled list Saturday ahead of his start. Over 20.0 innings pitched at Triple-A this season, West had a 1-1 record with an ERA of 7.20 in the Pacific Coast League, which is notoriously hard on pitchers.

West has been optioned back to Triple-A Oklahoma, Dylan Hernandez of the LA Times reports.
West was recalled over the weekend and pitched a combined 3.0 innings Saturday and Sunday, allowing two hits and a walk but no earned runs. West will head back to Oklahoma City for the time being, and he'll be a candidate to return to the Dodgers if the team again finds itself in need of bullpen depth.
Sat Jun 20 201518:54West recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Saturday
West was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Saturday.
The former second-round pick (2007) got the call to provide some bullpen depth despite allowing 11 runs on 14 hits in his first 12.1 innings with Triple-A Oklahoma City. West has already been designated for assignment by two clubs in 2015 (Rangers, Blue Jays) and will likely be a DFA candidate the next time the Dodgers need to clear a 40-man roster spot.
Mon Jun 1 201519:26West optioned back to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Monday
West was optioned back to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Monday, MLB.com's Ken Gurnick reports.
With the Dodgers set to open a four-game series Monday at Coors Field that includes a Tuesday doubleheader, the team will opt to add more long relievers to their pitching ranks in the event of an abbreviated outing from one or more of their starters. David Huff, who offers the ability to cover multiple innings out of the bullpen or serve as a spot starter for one of the doubleheader games, was brought aboard to replace West, who went unused during his one-game stint with the Dodgers.
Sun May 31 201512:24West recalled from Double-A Tulsa
West has been recalled from Double-A Tulsa, Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register reports.
West has allowed just one earned runs over 10.1 innings with the Drillers, making him worthy of one of the bullpen spots vacated by the placement of Paco Rodriguez (elbow) on the disabled list. Should West pitch well, he could hang on to a middle relief role, at least until Rodriguez is able to return.

West was traded from the Blue Jays to the Dodgers for cash considerations Monday.
West was designated for assignment by the Blue Jays on Saturday, but a strong start to the season with Double-A New Hampshire led to a trade to the Dodgers and a spot on their 40-man roster. He'll likely wind up in the minors with his new organization as well, but given the state of the club's bullpen, there's a chance he could eventually end up there.
Sat May 2 201509:42West designated for assignment by Blue Jays
West has been designated for assignment by the Blue Jays, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.
West is only 26, so there's a chance some team sees a future for him and grabs him off waivers, but it's hard to see being more than an organizational arm or emergency bullpen call-up at this point.
Sat Mar 14 201516:40West optioned to minor league camp Saturday
West was optioned to minor league camp Saturday, the Toronto Star's Brendan Kennedy reports.
West was claimed off waivers by the Jays this offseason, but it seems he will not break camp with the team. Look for him to offer organizational bullpen depth this season.
Wed Jan 14 201517:30The Blue Jays claimed West off waivers from Rangers on Wednesday
The Blue Jays claimed West off waivers from the Rangers on Wednesday, Blue Jays broadcaster Mike Wilner reports.
West appeared in three games with the Rangers last year but spent most of the season at Triple-A Round Rock, where he struck out 54 batters and posted a 4.15 ERA in 43.1 innings. He will challenge for a bullpen spot during spring training.
Mon Jan 5 201517:43West designated for assignment Monday
West was designated for assignment Monday.
The Rangers needed to open up a spot on the 40-man roster for Adam Rosales, so West will go through the waiver process. He had a 4.15 ERA in 33 appearances (almost all as a reliever) at Triple-A and also made three appearances out of the Rangers' pen. His 27.1 percent K-rate at Triple-A suggests he could miss some bats in a middle relief role, but he will probably never be much use in fantasy.
Mon Jul 21 201415:32Rangers option Matt West to Triple-A level
Rangers optioned RHP Matt West to Triple-A Round Rock.
West gave up three earned runs on six hits and a walk in four innings of relief for Texas. The 25-year-old right-hander has been pretty good this season at the Triple-A level and may get another shot soon.

Rangers optioned RHP Matt West to High-A Myrtle Beach.
West missed nearly all of the 2013 season following Tommy John surgery and has accumulated just 47 1/3 career innings since being converted from infielder to pitcher. The Rangers still think he has upside, but the 25-year-old is going to need to move quickly.
