MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Cleveland Indians have signed 36-year-old left-hander Oliver Perez for their struggling bullpen. This is Perez's eighth major league team.The move was made before the game at Minnesota on Saturday when the Indians designated left-hander Jeff Beliveau for assignment.Perez pitched in 16 games with a 2.57 ERA this season for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, a New York Yankees affiliate. He had a 4.95 ERA over 64 appearances last year for Washington.Perez debuted in 2002 with San Diego as a starter and has a career 4.46 ERA in 1,367 innings. If he pitches, he will be the 15th reliever used by the Indians this season. CLEVELAND (AP) — Indians pitcher Andrew Miller visited a specialist in New York on Tuesday to have his injured left knee examined.Miller, a dominant presence in Cleveland's bullpen since being acquired in 2016, was examined by New York Mets medical director Dr. David Altchek at the Hospital For Special Surgery.Indians general manager Chris Antonetti said there's no indication at this point that Miller will need surgery. He underwent an MRI and other tests during the examination. Miller was placed on the 10-day disabled list on Saturday with inflammation in the knee."We normally, anytime a player has an injury of any consequence, we'll try to get enough options to make sure we have a handle on what's going on for the best course of treatment," Antonetti said.The Indians haven't provided a timeline when Miller will return. MILWAUKEE (AP) — The Cleveland Indians' struggling bullpen is adding a fresh arm with recently acquired reliever Oliver Drake joining the roster.The Indians made room for the right-hander by optioning Alexi Ogando to Triple-A Columbus.Drake joined the Indians for the start of a two-game interleague series in Milwaukee on Tuesday, just in time to face the team that traded him to Cleveland on Saturday for $110,000.Drake was 1-0 with a 6.39 ERA in 12 2/3 innings with the Brewers.Ogando appeared in just one game with Cleveland. NEW YORK (AP) — The revolving door of Cleveland's bullpen took a turn for the fourth straight day when the Indians acquired reliever Oliver Drake from the Milwaukee Brewers for $110,000.Andrew Miller has not pitched since April 25 because of a strained left hamstring and will not come off the disabled list Sunday, the first day he is eligible.Cleveland entered Saturday with a 5.11 bullpen ERA, 28th among the 30 teams and ahead of only Minnesota (5.67) and Kansas City (6.07). Indians relievers are 3-8, a big factor in the Indians' 17-15 record. The Rays announced earlier that Beliveau would have to undergo labrum surgery, and it now appears as though that will cost him the rest of the 2015 season. The lefty had struggled through five big league appearances this year, allowing four runs in just 2.2 innings and will now turn his attention toward getting ready in time for spring training in 2016.
