MILWAUKEE (AP) — Reliever Boone Logan has finalized a $2.5 million, one-year contract with the Milwaukee Brewers, who also agreed to a minor league deal with right-hander J.J. Hoover.A 33-year-old side-arming left-hander, Logan went 1-0 with a 4.71 ERA in 38 games for Cleveland last year, striking out 28 in 21 innings. RHP J.J. Hoover, 30, retired the one batter he faced in Friday's win over Colorado after being recalled from Triple-A Reno where he had a 0.87 ERA in nine games. In 39 relief appearances with Arizona, Hoover is 1-1 with a 4.24 ERA with 46 strikeouts and 21 walks in 34 innings.

RHP J.J. Hoover was optioned to Triple-A after throwing a career-high 50 pitches in Saturday's loss in Minnesota. Hoover gave up two hits and one walk in 2 2/3 innings while striking out four batters. Hoover owns a 4.28 ERA in 38 games with Arizona this season.

"We felt like it was the best thing for J.J. to go back down and continue working to get back to what he was early in the season," manager Torey Lovullo said.
