Sun Apr 20 201410:12D'backs OF prospect Jacobs has two hits
Diamondbacks outfield prospect Brandon Jacobs went 2-for-3 with a double and two walks on Saturday for High-A Visalia.
He is hitting .271/.340/.479 with three home runs and a double on the season in his return to High-A. Jacobs is a tremendous athlete who has struggled to turn his athletic ability into baseball production. After a breakout 2011, he struggled for the next two seasons, which included getting traded twice (from the Red Sox to the White Sox to the Diamondbacks) in a five month span in 2013. If he can cut down on his strikeouts, he could turn into a middle of the order force with 25-plus home run potential.

White Sox acquired OF Brandon Jacobs from the Red Sox for LHP Matt Thornton.
Jacobs, a 22-year-old outfielder, was a 10th round selection by the Red Sox in the 2009 draft. In 81 games this season at High-A Salem, he hit .244/.334/.440 with 11 homers, 44 RBI and 10 stolen bases. He possesses plenty of raw talent, but has been slow to develop and is still a few years away from contributing at the big league level.
