Orioles signed LHP James Houser to a minor league contract.
Like Chris Jakubauskas and Mark Worrell, Houser has not received an invite to spring training. The 26-year-old left-hander posted a 3.67 ERA and 41/20 K/BB ratio over 49 innings with Triple-A New Orleans last season.

Houser was designated for assignment Friday, just three days after he was called up from the minor leagues. He allowed three runs over 1 1/3 innings in his lone appearance with the big club. The 25-year-old left-hander has a 3.26 ERA over 11 relief appearances with the Zephyrs this season.
