Mon Mar 23 201517:04Satin reassigned to minor league camp Monday
Satin was reassigned to minor league camp Monday.
Satin had been a likely candidate to begin the season in the minors, but he was receiving some game action earlier in the spring while Joey Votto nursed a wrist injury. The 30-year-old struggled in the majors last season, collecting just three hits in 35 at bats, and will likely begin the 2015 season in Triple-A.

Satin will start at first base for the Reds' first spring training game, the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Joey Votto isn't quite 'game-ready' so Satin, who is recovering from a wrist injury, will get the nod.
Sat Nov 22 201412:43Satin (wrist) signed minor league contract with Reds on Thursday
Satin (wrist) signed a minor league contract with the Reds on Thursday.
A fractured wrist ended Satin's 2014 season and ultimately his seven-year tenure with the Mets as well, as the team removed him from its 40-man roster late last month. Satin, a .294/.394/.444 career hitter at the Triple-A level, can play first base, second and third, but it will likely take several injuries to Reds starters for him to get a chance with the big club in 2015.
Fri Oct 31 201417:16Satin outrighted off 40-man roster by Mets on Friday
Satin was outrighted off the 40-man roster by the Mets on Friday, Adam Rubin of ESPN New York reports.
Satin decided to become a free agent rather than accept an assignment to Triple-A Las Vegas. He is now officially a free agent and will have the opportunity to sign where he likes in the offseason.

A recent X-ray and MRI revealed a fracture in Satin's wrist, which will end his season and force him to idle for six weeks.
With the emergence of Lucas Duda and a lost year at the plate (3 hits in 35 at-bats), Satin will be hard-pressed to get starts in 2015. That isn't to mention the disastrous effect injuries near the wrist can have on power hitters. Satin's strong 2013 season is still there, but Duda is younger and his 2014 was better.

Satin will be promoted from Triple-A Las Vegas with the rosters expanding Monday, ESPN New York reports.
Satin gives the Mets another righty bat off the bench.
Sat May 10 201414:25Mets option Josh Satin to Triple-A Las Vegas
Mets optioned INF Josh Satin to Triple-A Las Vegas.
The move doesn't come as a major surprise, as Satin was hitting a brutal .107/.265/.179 through 28 at-bats with the team. He'll continue to serve as additional depth in the minor leagues.

Fri May 9 201423:59Josh Satin goes hitless again in loss Friday
Josh Satin's early season struggles continued in Friday's loss to the Phillies, going 0-for-5 with a pair of strikeouts.
He has been absolutely abysmal at the plate to this point in the season, slashing an anemic .107/.265/.179 through his first 28 at-bats. Unless he starts to turn things around soon, he could be out of a job.

Wed Sep 18 201322:41Satin delivers walk-off in win over Giants
Josh Satin delivered a walk-off two-run single to cap a four-run ninth inning for the Mets, as they rallied to beat the Giants 5-4 on Wednesday.
Satin had already tallied a sacrifice fly earlier in the game, and his bases-loaded single off Giants closer Sergio Romo gave the Mets the win. The runs batted in were his first since August 21. In 176 at-bats this year, the 28-year-old is batting .284/.380/.398.

Mon Sep 2 201316:58Satin doubles twice but Mets fall to Braves
Josh Satin doubled twice Monday in the Mets' loss to the Braves at Atlanta's Turner Field.
Satin is now batting .297 with an .841 OPS in 55 games this season for New York. He should continue to get regular playing time against lefties down the stretch.

Wed Aug 21 201316:36Josh Satin hits second homer for Mets
Josh Satin went 2-for-4 and hit his second homer Wednesday against the Braves.
With a .303 average and 24 walks in 122 at-bats, Satin has been a big asset at the plate so far. Still, he doesn't have the power one wants from a third baseman and he's not an asset defensively anywhere else. He'll continue to start mostly against lefties for now.

Wed Aug 14 201309:34Josh Satin to start at third base Wednesday
Josh Satin is expected to start at third base in Wednesday's game against the Dodgers.
With Wilmer Flores sidelined, the Mets will go with Satin at third base over Justin Turner. Ike Davis will make his first start against a left-hander since returning from his demotion to the minors.

Sun Jul 7 201319:18Satin goes 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles
Josh Satin went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles, a steal, an RBI and a run scored in Sunday's victory against the Brewers.
The steal was his first of the season. Satin has produced a huge -- and unsustainable -- .382/.485/.600 line with a homer and eight RBI over 55 at-bats. Mets manager Terry Collins said Friday that Satin could get some playing time in the outfield in addition to his work at first base, which is great news with Ike Davis back from the minors. Satin is currently working on an 11-game hitting streak.

Fri Jul 5 201317:16Satin could get time in outfield
Mets manager Terry Collins said Friday that Josh Satin could get some playing time in the outfield.
Satin has been playing first base in recent days, but there won't be many at-bats for him there now that Ike Davis is back from the minors. The 28-year-old has only made one appearance in the outfield during his pro career, but the Mets are willing to consider all options. At the very least, Satin could spell Davis at first base against tougher left-handed starters.

Tue Jul 2 201300:31Josh Satin goes 3-for-6 against Arizona
Josh Satin went 3-for-6 with a couple of doubles and a walk versus the Diamondbacks on Monday.
It's only a matter of time until the Mets bring back Ike Davis, and it will be interesting to see what happens to Satin when they make the move. Satin has experience in the outfield corners, but he's not an asset out there. Still, if he keeps hitting, the Mets will have to find room for him. He's working on a seven-game hitting streak, and he's batting .395 with nine walks in 38 at-bats overall for the Mets.

Fri Jun 28 201322:38Satin has three hits vs. Nationals on Friday
Josh Satin went 3-for-3 with two RBI and a walk Friday against the Nationals.
The three hits were a career-high. Satin connected for an RBI single in the fifth inning and drove in another run with a double in the seventh. The 28-year-old is hitting .360 (9-for-25) in 12 games since being recalled from the minors and should remain relevant in NL-only leagues until Ike Davis returns.

Tue Jun 11 201312:13Mets call up 1B Satin from Triple-A
Mets purchased the contract of 1B Josh Satin from Triple-A Las Vegas.
Now that Ike Davis is in the minors, Satin figures to share playing time with the likes of Daniel Murphy and Justin Turner at first base. The 28-year-old was batting .306/.421/.491 with nine home runs and 32 RBI in 59 games this season in Triple-A and is worth picking up in NL-only formats.

The Mets are expected to call up Josh Satin from Triple-A Buffalo on Monday.
With Ike Davis demoted to the minors, Satin should see the majority of starts at first base. Collin Cowgill and Josh Edgin have also been recalled by the Mets. Satin, 28, is batting .306/.421/.491 with nine home runs and 32 RBI at the Triple-A level.

Wed Jun 6 201214:12Mets designate INF Satin for assignment
Mets designated INF Josh Satin for assignment.
He was cleared to make room for right-hander Pedro Beato on the 40-man roster. Satin had one at-bat in Tuesday's extra-inning loss to the Nationals and appeared in 15 games with the Mets last season. There's a chance he could pas through waivers unclaimed.
