Rockies designated RHP Alan Johnson for assignment.
Johnson was cleared to make room for Alfredo Amezaga on the 40-man roster. The 27-year-old right-hander made a spot start with the Rockies earlier this month, but obviously isn't considered a promising prospect at this point. There's a chance he could make it through waivers.
