Garrett Richards will take Wilk's spot on the Angels' roster. Wilk appeared in one game and pitched two innings while giving up one run. Richards was recovering from a knee injury and pitched his latest rehab appearance on Thursday.

The Angels called up Wilk from Triple-A Salt Lake on Wednesday, Mike DiGiovanna of the LA Times reports.

Wilk will take the roster spot of Drew Rucinski, who was optioned to Salt Lake after being called up for a spot start Tuesday. Wilk will pitch out of the bullpen for the Angels.

Wilk was reassigned to minor league camp on Saturday.

The 27-year-old southpaw will offer organizational bullpen depth for the Angels this season.

This is purely a minor league depth move for the Angels, considering how bad Wilk was in Triple-A last season (4.72 ERA, 1.43 WHIP).
