The move clears a spot for Chad Jenkins on the roster with Double-A New Hampshire. Magnuson, 27, had an ugly 9.00 ERA over his first 10 appearances with the Fisher Cats this season. He'll attempt to latch on elsewhere.

Blue Jays sent RHP Trystan Magnuson outright to High-A Dunedin.
The move clears a spot on the 40-man roster. Magnuson, who was reacquired from the A's last November, has a 4.05 ERA and 5/1 K/BB ratio in 6 2/3 innings at the High-A level this season. The 26-year-old right-hander posted a 6.14 ERA in nine relief appearances with Oakland last year.

Not a surprise. Magnuson, who was reacquired by the Blue Jays in November, posted a 6.14 ERA and 1.36 WHIP in 14-plus innings with the A's last season and had a 2.98 ERA and 46/19 K/BB ratio over 45 1/3 innings as a reliever with Triple-A Sacramento.

Blue Jays acquired RHP Trystan Magnuson from the Athletics for cash considerations.
It was nearly a year ago that Magnuson was dealt from the Jays to the A's. Oakland designated him for assignment on Wednesday, and Toronto jumped at the opportunity to get him back in the organization. He posted a 6.14 ERA and 1.36 WHIP in 14-plus innings for the A's this season but held a 2.98 ERA while striking out a batter per inning at Triple-A.

He'll replace the injured Grant Balfour on the active roster. Magnuson made two appearances with the big club in May, but has spent most of the season at the Triple-A level, posting a 2.78 ERA and 37/17 K/BB ratio over 35 2/3 innings. Look for him in middle relief.

Trystan Magnuson gave up six runs in two innings out of the pen Thursday versus the Twins.
That's more runs than the Twins score some weeks. It was just Magnusson's second appearance since he was summoned from the minors eight days ago. Perhaps he deserves a longer look, but we'd rather see the A's give Joey Devine a chance.
