Last week, manager Terry Francona hinted that Hagadone may have suffered a serious elbow injury, but that he would seek a second opinion. That was indeed the case as Thursday's procedure will keep Hagadone out for the remainder of the season. The 6-9 month timetable should keep Hagadone on the shelf until spring training at the earliest, but the other extreme of that time frame would keep him out until late April.
