Cabral made just two appearances with the Orioles this season, walking one batter in just an inning of work. While his numbers at Triple-A Norfolk (4.95 ERA, 1.52 WHIP and 43:19 K:BB in 40 innings) were certainly down, he will likely get a chance to impress with another team during spring training.

Sun Sep 6 201516:27Cabral designated for assignment by Orioles on Sunday
Cabral was designated for assignment by the Orioles on Sunday.
Cabral didn't see much time in the majors this season, but he didn't do badly in his two appearances, throwing a scoreless inning total. He's now off the 40-man roster, likely taking him out of consideration to potentially join the Orioles' roster in September.

Cabral made his Orioles debut in relief Saturday, walking one before inducing a double play in his 0.2 innings against the Indians.
Cabral had not allowed a run in his 21.2 innings at Double-A and Triple-A, so why start now? Cabral's season is a bit of an enigma, as he has not had a WHIP below 1.40 in the minors since 2010, yet he has been dominant this season. Cabral could be headed back to Triple-A as soon as Sunday when Bud Norris is activated from the DL.
Fri Jun 5 201515:36Cabral recalled from Triple-A Norfolk on Friday
Cabral was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk on Friday, Bowie Baysox broadcaster Adam Pohl reports.
Cabral joined infielder Rey Navarro in being recalled Friday, as the team freed up room on the roster by optioning Steve Clevenger and Mike Wright to Triple-A Norfolk. The 26-year-old Cabrera, who began the year at Double-A Bowie, is 2-0 and has not allowed a run this season in 21 relief appearances while striking out 25. He hasn't fared as well at the major league level, however, posting a career 7.71 ERA in 12 MLB appearances for the Yankees in 2013 and 2014.
Sun Jan 11 201514:10Cabral has signed minor league deal with Orioles
Cabral has signed a minor league deal with the Orioles, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.
Cabral spent time at three different levels last time, and pitched one inning with the Yankees in which he allowed three runs while striking out two. He spent most of the season at Double-A Trenton, where he struggled his way to a 5.63 ERA and 1.66 WHIP over 32 innings while striking out 37. He struggled with his command last season in a big way, walking 23 over the period last season, and another two in his inning with the Yankees. He should provide the Orioles with some organizational depth in the bullpen.

Yankees designated LHP Cesar Cabral for assignment.
Not an unsurprising move after completely losing his control and hitting three batters in the eighth inning of Friday's loss to the Rays. While it's possible he'll generate some interest on waivers, the most likely scenario is that he returns to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre where he'll attempt to get back on track.

The 25-year-old southpaw was outstanding in Grapefruit League play, hurling 9 1/3 scoreless innings while compiling a 10/6 K/BB ratio. Even so, he lost out to Vidal Nuno for the final spot in the Opening Day bullpen somehow. He'll get another shot with the Yankees at some point early in the 2014 season no doubt.

Fighting for a spot as a lefty specialist in the Bombers bullpen, Cabral has had a solid spring, posting a 1.74 ERA and 12/1 K/BB ratio in 10 1/3 innings. It looks like it could all be for naught, however.
