Sat Mar 12 201112:04Mendez outrighted to Triple-A
Marlins sent RHP Adalberto Mendez outright to Triple-A New Orleans.
Mendez made five spot starts for the Marlins last season, but he's been likely ticketed for the Triple-A bullpen all along. He'll give the Fish some depth.

Fri Oct 1 201021:47Mendez takes loss in final start of 2010
Adalberto Mendez yielded five earned runs over 5 1/3 innings in a loss to the Pirates on Friday night.
Mendez ends up with a 5.11 ERA and 1.62 WHIP in his five starts since getting the callup at the end up September. He did toss six innings of one-hit ball in his first start against the Phillies, but that was predictably proven to be a fluke. Mendez is off the fantasy radar heading into his age-29 season.

Mon Sep 6 201016:53Marlins' Menez suffered cramp in quad
Updating a previous item, Marlins interim manager Edwin Rodriguez said that Adalberto Mendez suffered a cramp in his right quad, not a strain.
Good news. Even better, Rodriguez seems to believe Mendez will be well enough to make his next start. We'll see about that one. The 28-year-old right-hander allowed just one hit over six scoreless innings before leaving his major league debut Monday against the Phillies.

Mon Sep 6 201014:50Mendez gets 1st hit, suffers hammy injury
Adalberto Mendez was lifted from Monday's game in the seventh inning after suffering a hamstring injury while running to first base.
Darn. Mendez had allowed just one hit over six scoreless innings against the Phillies and had just collected his first major league single when he pulled up lame heading down to first base. The 28-year-old righty could be out for a couple of weeks if he strained a muscle.

Mendez has gone back and forth from starting and relieving between Double- and Triple-A this season, posting a 3.98 ERA and 88/41 K/BB ratio over 86 innings. He doesn't need to be on your fantasy radar.
