The Minnesota Twins signed free-agent infielder Daniel Robertson to a minor league contract. In July, he was designated for assignment by the Milwaukee Brewers and finished the rest of last season in Triple-A. Overall, the 27-year-old slashed .164/.303/.274 across 90 big league plate appearances. Robertson will provide the Twins with infield depth but isn't on the fantasy radar in 2022.

The Cleveland Indians placed outfielder Brandon Guyer on the 10-day disabled list Sunday with a left wrist injury.The move is retroactive to Saturday. Guyer underwent an MRI on Sunday.Indians manager Terry Francona said Guyer aggravated his wrist while taking a swing Friday.Guyer is hitting .182 with one home run and five RBIs in 21 games this season.The Indians also designated utility player Michael Martinez for assignment. He is batting .364 (4-for-11) in 15 games and pitched a scoreless inning against the Chicago White Sox on April 13.In addition, the Indians recalled infielder Erik Gonzalez from Triple-A Columbus and purchased the contract of outfielder Daniel Robertson from Columbus.

Although not included among the team's first wave of September callups, Robertson will get an opportunity to serve in a reserve role with the big club over the final weeks of the season. Robertson hit .288 in a small sample with the Angels earlier this season, but he posted a less than stellar .265/.332/.343 batting line with Salt Lake.

Robertson was optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake on Wednesday, Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register reports.

He was simply the odd man out with the Angels acquiring Shane Victorino, David Murphy and David DeJesus via trade in recent days. Robertson has hit at an empty .288 clip in 31 games with the big club this season, and while he may very well be among the team's September callups, he could also be a DFA candidate if the Angels bring in another piece prior to the trade deadline.

The Angels had been getting by with only four outfielders for the last handful of games, so the addition of Robertson will give the team some added depth at the position. With only the struggling Matt Joyce and long-time minor-leaguer Efren Navarro ahead of him on the depth chart in left field, Robertson could have a shot at contending for regular at-bats.

He lost out on the final roster spot to Efren Navarro and Taylor Featherston. The Angels currently have just four active outfielders, so if one of them gets banged up, Robertson could still get the call later.

Robertson was moved as part of Thursday's midnight deadline that required teams to add players to the 40-man roster or risk losing them to the Rule 5 draft. He joins an Angels club with a loaded outfield, making it doubtful he will start the season in the majors.

Robertson is out of the lineup Monday against the Royals.

Robertson has picked up the bulk of the starts in left field over the last 10 days, and has done well in accruing a .303 average and .374 on-base percentage in 132 at-bats. However, Robertson has very limited power and in making his MLB debut this season at 28 years old, he'll have little chance of opening 2015 as a starting outfielder for the team.

Robertson went 0-for-2 with a run scored after replacing Mike Carp in left field Saturday night.

The Rangers continue to give Robertson semi-regular playing time, as he'll typically slot into the lineup when the opposition sends a left-handed starter to the mound.
