He and Eury Perez will join Scott Hairston as depth behind Bryce Harper, Denard Span and Jayson Werth down the stretch. Brown has a little pop and speed, but the 27-year-old doesn't figure to see the field enough to employ either to the degree that would justify a transaction in NL-only leagues.

Sat Sep 8 201219:15Corey Brown delivers walk-off winner for Nats
Corey Brown hit a pinch-hit RBI single in the bottom of the 10th inning Saturday, giving the Nationals a come-from-behind 7-6 victory over the Marlins.
The Nats trailed 6-5 entering the bottom of the ninth and then had to deal with a rain delay that lasted nearly 2 1/2 hours. When play eventually resumed, Jayson Werth blasted a game-tying solo homer off Heath Bell to force extra innings. The Nats started the home half of the 10th with two singles and an intentional walk to load the bases with no outs. After Kurt Suzuki hit into a fielder's choice, Brown batted for Drew Storen and came through with the critical RBI knock. He's hitting .222 (4-for-18) with a homer and three RBI in limited action this season.

Mon Mar 12 201216:46Corey Brown knocks in two for Nationals
Non-roster outfielder Corey Brown had two hits and two RBI for the Nationals on Monday.
Brown is 7-for-17 with a homer this spring. The Nationals aren't giving him time in center, so it doesn't look like he's a candidate to be in the mix with Rick Ankiel and Roger Bernadina there. And since Brown, like those two, is a left-handed hitter, there probably won't be room on the bench for him, either. He's likely going to end up back in Triple-A.
