Rodriguez signed a minor league deal with the Diamondbacks on Thursday, Jon Heyman of CBS reports.
The hard-throwing reliever appeared to be on the fast track to earning a closing role at some point, but he's had trouble with control and had an elbow issues last season, which resulted in surgery to clean up bone chips. He has 151 strikeouts in 150 career innings but has also walked 107 hitters over that span.

White Sox released RHP Henry Rodriguez.
Rodriguez held a 21.60 ERA while walking eight over just 1 2/3 innings with Triple-A Charlotte after signing a minor league deal last month. He'll get another chance somewhere with his high-90s velocity, but Rodriguez is a long shot at this point to make it back to the majors this season.

Mon Mar 17 201417:22Henry Rodriguez sharp in relief
Henry Rodriguez struck out three in two hitless innings of relief against the Mets on Monday.
After a dismal 2013 with the Nationals and Cubs, the hard-throwing Rodriguez is making a run at a spot in the Marlins pen this spring. He's struck out six and walked one while allowing one run in four innings so far. Since he is on a minor league deal, the most likely scenario has him headed to Triple-A for a bit. However, he could be the first reliever called up by the team.

Tue Jun 11 201323:51Cubs acquire Henry Rodriguez from Nationals
Cubs acquired RHP Henry Rodriguez from the Nationals in exchange for RHP Ian Dickson.
Rodriguez had been designated for assignment last week. Despite a 5.13 ERA and 1.50 WHIP since the beginning of last season, it's no surprise that it didn't take him long to find another job in the majors, there's always someone willing to take a chance on a guy that can throw 100 mph. Rodriguez figures to work the middle innings initially, but in the Cubs' unstable bullpen, he could find his way to the later frames if he pitches well.
