(AP) — Tyler Clippard pitched hitless ball for two innings for a players' association team against Japanese amateurs, trying to impress scouts and regain a major league job.Thirty-eight players have attended a free agent camp that opened Feb. 14, and the union put together an exhibition game Tuesday against the East Japan Railway Company.The starting lineup included center fielder Alejandro De Aza, catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia, designated hitter Juan Francisco, first baseman Tyler Moore, right fielder Luke Scott, third baseman Chris Johnson, shortstop Omar Infante, left fielder Nolan Reimold and second baseman Tyler Ladendorf. The free agents won 2-0 in five innings, allowing just one hit. Several scouts looked on.Two players agreed to minor league deals after attending camp: right-hander Carlos Torres with Cleveland and left-hander Tommy Layne with Boston. OF Nolan Reimold hit a two-run homer Tuesday in Boston in his first start since Sept. 3. Reimold, playing in left field, launched his blast off Red Sox starter Drew Pomeranz over the Green Monster in left field in a five-run Orioles second inning and finished 2-for-3. It was the first multi-hit game since July 2 for the scuffling Reimold, who hadn't driven in a run since July 24.

OF Nolan Reimold lost a hit because of a scoring change. In the bottom of the seventh inning Monday in the 4-1 victory over the Kansas City Royals, Reimold hit a ground ball to third base that was originally scored a single. The play has been changed so that 3B Whit Merrifield has been charged with a throwing error. The change makes the third run scored unearned. With the change, Reimold was 0-for-3 with a run scored.

LF Nolan Reimold hit a tie-breaking three-run homer in Friday night's 6-3 victory against the White Sox. Reimold is hitting .355 with three homers and five RBIs. In nine games where he has two or more at-bats, Reimold has five multi-hit games. "It's a good start, long year obviously," he said. "Just try to keep it up, do the little things."

Reimold is not in the lineup Monday against the Blue Jays, Roch Kubatko of MASN reports.

Reimold has seen regular starts in the DH role, but after going 0-for-6 in the last two games to drop his average to .237 on the year, he'll get the day off Monday. Steve Clevenger will serve as the team's DH and bat fifth in his place.

Reimold is out of the lineup Saturday versus the Rays, MLB.com's Brittany Ghiroli reports.

Reimold has seen a rise in at-bats of late at designated hitter and in the corner outfield, but with Steve Clevenger and Gerardo Parra drawing back into the lineup against righty Erasmo Ramirez, Reimold will take a seat.

Reimold is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Red Sox, according to Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports.

Reimold owns a 1.127 OPS this month, but manager Buck Showalter decided to give him a day off after he went 1-for-4 with three strikeouts Monday. Steve Pearce will get the nod in left field for the Orioles on Tuesday night.

Remiold is hitting .360/.500/.720 with three home runs since being promoted on September 6.

Reimold has six walks and four strikeouts over the same timeframe and has been deployed in the leadoff position for now. Of course, his line in August was .185/.214/.185 in 27 at-bats with just one walk and seven strikeouts before being sent back down. He is a hot bat who is auditioning for a role in 2016 as the Orioles are realistically almost eliminated from the postseason.

Reimold went 1-for-3, drew two walks and scored three runs against the Yankees on Wednesday.

Reimold has been terrifically useful in four games since being recalled from Triple-A, having collected four hits (including a homer), two walks and six runs. He's started in left field and batted leadoff in the last two games, and the Orioles faced both a righty (Masahiro Tanaka) and a lefty (CC Sabathia) in those contests. That may become an ongoing arrangement in the near future, helping Reimold carve out AL-only and daily-league value.

Reimold had his contract selected by the Orioles on Saturday, Roch Kubatko of MASN reports.

The 31-year-old will provide the Orioles with another option off their bench as they try to contend for a wild card berth. His bat hasn't exactly been its best in 2015, with a .227/.306/.340 line, but he could still see pinch hit opportunities.

Reimold was outrighted to Triple-A Norfolk on Thursday, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.

Designated for assignment earlier in the week, he will head down to Norfolk for what remains of the minor league season and hope to receive a call back when rosters expand in September. The 31-year-old has gone 22-for-97 (.227 average) with two homers, eight RBI and an 11:27 BB:K in 39 games with Baltimore this season, while hitting .286/.351/.389 in 46 games with the Tides.

Reimold was designated for assignment Monday.

Reimold has split time in the outfield since returning to the team in June, and the addition of Gerardo Parra further limited his reps. After logging only 27 at-bats in 11 August appearances, Reimold will now be removed from the 40-man roster and subject to waivers. If he clears, he'll likely wind up at Triple-A Norfolk.

Reimold is out of the lineup Monday against the Athletics, MLB.com's Brittany Ghiroli reports.

The Orioles have moved Chris Davis back from right field to first base in each of the last two games, but the acquisition of Gerardo Parra on Friday will likely lead the team to employ a rotation in right until further notice. As a result, Reimold will have to compete with the likes of Travis Snider, David Lough, and Jimmy Paredes for at-bats, with the hottest hitter of the bunch ultimately expected to capture the lion's share of the duties. The ongoing timeshare will make it difficult for any of those players to deliver steady fantasy value.

Reimold was officially reinstated from the paternity list Thursday.

Reimold was away from the team to be with his wife after the birth of the couple's child. He'll continue to draw spot starts in the Baltimore outfield.

Reimold has spent his time with the family, and now will rejoin the club after a three days. He'll likely return to a platoon role where he sees starts against left-handed pitchers.

Reimold was placed on the paternity list Monday.

Reimold's daughter is expected to be born Monday and will return later this week. Since returning to the team, he has a .804 OPS in 41 at-bats. Ryan Flaherty will take his place on the active roster until he returns.

Reimold is expected to leave the Orioles after Sunday's game against the White Sox to attend to the birth of his daughter, Eduardo Encina of the Baltimore Sun reports.

Reimold, who is starting in left field Sunday and batting second in the lineup, will likely be placed on the paternity list once he leaves the team. Per MLB rules, Reimold would be able to spend up to three days away from the Orioles, which would put him on track to rejoin the team Thursday.
