Sat May 21 201112:08A's sign LHP DiNardo to minors deal
Athletics signed LHP Lenny DiNardo to a minor league contract.
DiNardo had recently signed with the Long Island Ducks of the independent Atlantic League after being released by the Red Sox after spring training. The 31-year-old left-hander previously pitched with Oakland from 2007-08, but hasn't appeared in the major leagues since 2009 as a member of the Royals. The A's are dealing with a number of injuries in their starting rotation right now, so DiNardo will serve as depth with Triple-A Sacramento.

The Red Sox have agreed to a contract with left-hander Lenny DiNardo, according to Rob Bradford of WEEI.com.
The Red Sox are just waiting for the results of an MRI before they make everything official. DiNardo, 31, pitched for Boston from 2004-06 to mixed results. Things have not gone well for the past couple of years in Oakland and he's probably going to have to spend the early parts of 2011 in Triple-A.

Wed Aug 4 201012:55DiNardo not done for the season
It turns out Lenny DiNardo (elbow surgery) may not be done for the season as initially thought.
The left-hander was thought to be out for the year following surgery to remove bone chips from his elbow, but he is already throwing at the team's minor-league complex in Arizona. Director of Player Development Keith Lieppman described DiNardo's recovery as "miraculously quick." Despite the good news, it's unlikely that the lefty will appear in a game for the A's this year.
