The White Sox have signed Brandon Watson to a minor league contract.

Watson's last appearance in the majors was in June 2007, when he hit 5-for-18 with a double and two RBI. More significantly, that same year he manufactured an International League-record 43-game hitting streak. The 29-year-old has hit an impressive .302 in 4,530 minor league at-bats, but he has failed to catch on in the big leagues. The White Sox already are stacked in the outfield and at DH, so barring injury, it looks like another season in the International League for Watson.
