Dodgers recalled OF Jamie Hoffman from Triple-A Albuquerque.
Hoffman, 26, batted .182 with one home run and seven RBI over 22 at-bats with the big club last season. He'll give the Dodgers an extra bat until Jon Garland is ready to return from the disabled list later this week.

Dodgers purchased the contract of OF Jamie Hoffman from Triple-A Albuquerque.
The move protects Hoffman, 26, from minor league free agency and the Rule 5 Draft. He hit .310/.369/.431 with 36 doubles and 17 stolen bases in 139 games at the Triple-A level this year and could reach the majors as a backup outfielder by the middle of the 2011 season.
