Walsh made two of three field goals and both extra point attempts in Sunday's loss at Denver. He missed a 39-yard field goal attempt. "He needs to make those kicks. It's disappointing," head coach Mike Zimmer told ESPN 1500 am Twin Cities.

Walsh converted both field goal attempts from 28 and 23 yards but missed an extra point in Sunday's win over Detroit.
Walsh's struggles continue as he's made 3-of-4 field goals this season after making just 5-of-11 on field goals in the preseason. At least he didn't miss a field goal Sunday, but he's going to need a few error-free weeks to regain the confidence of head coach Mike Zimmer.

Walsh made 1-of-2 field goal attempts, missing from 44 yards, in Monday's loss to San Francisco. After going just 5-of-11 on field goals in the preseason, he appeared to lose the confidence of head coach Mike Zimmer. "He didn't kick very good in pregame," Zimmer told the Minneapolis Star Tribune. "I don't know, he hit 28 out of 28 in practice last week, so he's got to carry it to the game ... it's worrisome."
Walsh signed a four-year, $14 million contract before the start of training camp, so the Vikings will have a hard decision whether to find a new kicker if he continues to struggle. Zimmer before had shown confidence in Walsh in the preseason, so he could be on thin ice.

Walsh was 1-of-2 on field goal attempts in Thursday's preseason game, missing a 48-yard attempt. He was just 5-of-11 on field goals in the preseason.
Walsh signed a four-year, $14 million contract before the start of training camp, so he'll keep his job despite a poor preseason. However, that may change if he doesn't improve in the regular season.

Walsh missed all three field goal attempts in Saturday's preseason win over Oakland and missed an extra point. He's just 2-of-6 on field goal attempts in three preseason games.
Walsh missed field goal attempts from 35, 38 and 49 yards Saturday. Although conditions were not ideal with rain and wind, he's still been in a slump. Walsh signed a four-year, $14 million contract before the start of training camp, so he's in no danger to lose his job. However, it would be reassuring if he made a few field goals his final two preseason games.
Sun Jul 26 201514:55Walsh has signed four-year contract extension with Vikings
Walsh has signed a four-year contract extension with the Vikings, reportedly worth up to $14 million, ESPN.com reports. "Blair has been a vital part of our special-teams success since we drafted him and we felt it was very important to secure his future with our organization," GM Rick Spielman said of the 2012 sixth-rounder. "His consistency on kickoffs and on long range field goals can help change the game for our team and we're excited for his future here in Minnesota."
The report further notes that Walsh's deal includes $5.25 million guaranteed and currently makes him one of the top five highest-paid kickers in the NFL. Walsh is coming off a 2014 campaign in which he made 26-of-35 field goals attempts, including 5-of-9 from over 50 yards. With the Vikings having added deep threat Mike Wallace during the offseason and with running back Adrian Peterson returning, Walsh could see an uptick in scoring opportunities this coming season, a scenario that could see him re-emerge on the fantasy radar. The 25-year-old notched 107 points in 2014, down from his marks of 141 points in 2012 (a season in which he nailed 10-of-10 attempts from 50-plus yards as a rookie) and 121 points in 2013.

Walsh missed three field goals in Sunday's loss to Detroit. He missed from 53 and 68 yards and also had a 26-yard attempt blocked. He did make both extra point attempts.
Walsh was 12-of-15 in his career from 50 yards or more in his first two seasons, but is just 5-of-9 this season. It's hard to fault him with missing a 68-yard field goal and the blocked attempt wasn't his miscue, so we wouldn't be overly worried. However, he's now made one of his last six field goal attempts.

Walsh missed two field goals, from 56 and 39 yards, but made one field goal from 20 yards in Sunday's win over the Jets. He also made all three extra point attempts.
There were concerns before the season that he may have issues kicking outside of a dome with the Vikings playing outdoors this season, but he was 5-of-6 the past three weeks in cold weather. This likely just an off week as a result.

Walsh made both field goal attempts in Sunday's win over Green Bay, including a 51-yard field goal.

Walsh converted his only field goal attempt from 40 yards in Sunday's loss to Detroit.
After a shaky preseason, Walsh is 11-of-13 on field goal attempts.

Walsh converted one field goal attempt and one extra point attempt in Thursday's 42-10 loss to the Packers.
In a game thoroughly dominated by Green Bay, the Vikings didn't move the ball into Packers territory until the fourth quarter, so Walsh didn't have much of a chance to make an impact. The offense should be more dynamic once Teddy Bridgewater returns, but Minnesota may again struggle to find any traction against a staunch Lions defense in Week 6.

Walsh made 4-of-5 field goals in Sunday's 41-28 win over Atlanta.
Walsh hit a couple of short kicks, as well as one from 41 yards out, and later 55 yards away. He was shaky in the preseason, but has gone 9-for-11 so far this year.

After a shaky preseason, Walsh has made 5-of-6 field goals in three games. He'll face a tougher road when he plays outdoors at home this year in colder weather.

Walsh's only field goal attempt in Sunday's loss to New England was blocked. He did make his only extra point attempt.
It was hard to blame Walsh for the block as the offensive line allowed Chandler Jones to break free for the block which he returned for a touchdown.

Walsh made both field goal attempts, from 52 and 46 yards, and all four extra points in Sunday's win at St. Louis.
After missing a few field goal attempts in the preseason, Walsh showed off his long-range accuracy in Sunday's game. However, a bigger test comes when he moves outdoors in the Vikings' temporary home at the University of Minnesota's outdoor stadium.

Walsh has missed both field goal attempts over 50 yards this preseaon and missed an extra point.
Walsh is moving from a dome to an outdoor stadium this season as the Vikings play two seasons at the University of Minnnesota's outdoor stadium while their new stadium is being built. Walsh has been outstanding from long range in his career (12-for-15 over 50 yards), but his early misses from long range in two home games are raising concerns he won't fare as well outdoors. He's in no risk of losing his starting job, however.
Thu Oct 17 201316:52Blair Walsh doesn't practice Thursday
Vikings K Blair Walsh (hamstring) was held out of Thursday's practice.
The injury is to Walsh's plant leg, and is the same issue he played through in Week 7. Barring a setback, he'll start Monday night's game against the Giants.

Sun Oct 13 201312:21Blair Walsh ready to kick for Vikings
Vikings K Blair Walsh (hamstring) is active for Sunday's Week 6 game against the Panthers.
Walsh tweaked his non-kicking hammy in practice this week, but he's fine and a very solid fantasy kicking option. Walsh is 43-of-47 on field goals to start his NFL career.
