Robinson signed a minor-league contract with the Diamondbacks on Monday.
The Diamondbacks assigned him to Triple-A Reno, where he'll presumably spend all of the 2015 season. Robinson was once held in some regard as a prospect after hitting 26 homers as a 23-year-old at Triple-A in 2011, but his sky-high strikeout rate (32.6%) over his 319 career MLB plate appearances seems to have damaged his chances of becoming a regular player in the majors.

He seems likely to receive an invitation to spring training. A former Dodgers draft pick, Robinson spent all of 2013 between Double- and Triple-A with the Orioles, batting just .247/.329./394 but hitting 11 homers and stealing 21 bases. He'll represent organizational depth.

Tue Mar 19 201317:06Trayvon Robinson homers for Orioles
Unfazed by some odd managerial shenanigans, Trayvon Robinson hit his second spring homer Tuesday against the Red Sox.
Robinson and Nate McLouth alternated between left field and center field each inning today. Manager Buck Showalter said afterwards that it was because he wanted both to get used to playing the Green Monster at Fenway (the Red Sox's new spring training park has a Monster-like wall in left). Apparently just having Robinson and McLouth switch midway through the game would have been too easy.

The move was made in order to clear a spot on the 40-man roster for Todd Redmond, who was claimed off waivers. Robinson has a .215/.272/.330 batting line and a 104/22 K/BB ratio over his first 319 plate appearances in the majors. He's just 25 and has a pretty nice minor league track record, though, so he could receive interest from other clubs.

Robinson's second-inning shot off A.J. Griffin was his only hit in four trips to the plate. Robinson has homered just three times in 149 plate appearances, and is sporting a rough .214/.290/.328 slash. He's unlikely to be a big part of the Mariners' 2013 plans.

Sat Aug 25 201200:29Robinson has three hits, HR as M's lose
Trayvon Robinson had a nice night at the plate in a losing effort against the White Sox on Friday, going 3-for-4 with a double and a solo home run.
Robinson also scored two runs in the game. Once thought of as a can't miss prospect, the 24-year-old outfielder is finally receiving his first real shot at extended playing time. He's responded by hitting .250 with a homer, five RBI and three steals over his first 68 at-bats. He's unlikely to make a major impact in mixed leagues this season, but keep him in mind as a sleeper option for 2013.

Trayvon Robinson went 2-for-3 with a double, a walk and two runs scored against the Blue Jays on Tuesday.
Robinson is 4-for-10 with two doubles and two RBI in three games since being called up on July 24. He's still in line for significant playing time even with Eric Thames arriving, so he's worth trying in AL-only leagues.

Sat Mar 17 201214:02Trayvon Robinson optioned to Triple-A Tacoma
Mariners optioned OF Trayvon Robinson to Triple-A Tacoma.
Acquired from the Dodgers in the Erik Bedard deal last July, Robinson is considered ''toolsy'' with projectable power and good speed, and was reportedly ''in the mix'' for playing time in left field. It's not unrealistic to think he could reappear in the majors by midseason. The Mariners also reassigned left-handers Sean Henn and Oliver Perez, and right-handers Matt Fox, Aaron Heilman, Josh Kinney and Jeff Marquez.

Trayvon Robinson went 3-for-4 and hit his first homer of the spring Sunday versus the Giants.
Robinson is back in the mix for a job in the Seattle outfield following Franklin Gutierrez's injury, but it still seems more likely that he's Triple-A bound. Of course, the 6-for-12 start to his spring does help his chances a bit.

Thu Feb 23 201209:28Robinson (hamstring) limited during workouts
Trayvon Robinson will be limited during workouts Thursday due to a tight left hamstring.
Robinson will hit and throw on Thursday, but won't push things by running. It doesn't sound like a major concern and the 24-year-old outfielder should be back to normal within the next few days.

Thu Sep 8 201100:19Trayvon Robinson musters lone M's hit
Trayvon Robinson hit a solo home run in Seattle's loss to the Angels on Wednesday.
Robinson's sixth-inning blast would be the only hit the Mariners could muster in a 3-1 loss. The home run was just his second in 25 games since making his big-league debut on August 5, but he's hitting a respectable .274/.319/.464. He's likely playing his way into Seattle's 2012 plans.

Trayvon Robinson took care of business in Tuesday's doubleheader against the Indians, finishing 6-for-10 with two runs and three RBI.
Oh, and he did all his damage while batting ninth. Robinson put up terrific numbers in the minors and is a solid bet to make contributions at the major league level. He's now hit safely in eight of his last 10 games, batting 15-for-38 (.395) during this stretch.
