Fri Aug 28 201510:05Hill signed two-year contract extension with Ravens
Hill signed a two-year contract extension with the Ravens, ESPN.com reports.
Hill, who is locked in as a starter next to Kendrick Lewis, would have been an unrestricted free agent after the season. He's been suspended three times through his first three seasons in the league, but his on-field effectiveness has never been an issue. Hill could be a sneakily productive IDP option, as he figures to spend more time up in the box this season, with Lewis playing more of a center-field role.
Wed Aug 5 201512:20Hill's grasp on starting job has strengthened
With Matt Elam (biceps) expected to miss the entire season, Hill's grasp on a starting job has strengthened, the Ravens' official website reports.
Elam was a candidate to push Hill for the starting job at strong safety, but it would now be a major surprise if Hill doesn't lock down the spot. Hill was arguably the Ravens' most consistent defensive back last season, and while he's had no shortage of off-field issues during his career, he's always been effective when able to play. Although the inside-linebacker duo of C.J. Mosley and Daryl Smith figures to soak up a ton of tackles, there should be enough leftover for Hill to be a viable IDP in most formats, assuming he has an every-snap role.
Tue May 19 201510:43Hill expected to shift from free safety to strong safety in 2015
Hill is expected to shift from free safety to strong safety in 2015, The Baltimore Sun reports.
Hill will compete with former first-round draft pick Matt Elam for the starting job, but it would be a major upset if Elam actually emerges victorious. Hill was the most reliable member of the Baltimore secondary by the end of last season, and a shift to strong safety should lead to some added tackle opportunities. Offseason acquisition Kendrick Lewis is the favorite to start at free safety.
Thu Apr 23 201518:13Hill has signed restricted free agent tender for $1.542 million
Hill has signed his restricted free agent tender for $1.542 million, Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun reports.
Hill has been effective when on the field over the last few seasons, but his long history of off-field issues allowed the Ravens to get away with giving him a low tender. Having not received any offer sheets as a restricted free agent, Hill will be back as the Ravens' starting free safety in 2015. He's an interesting target for deeper IDP leagues, but his role in Baltimore's defense isn't conducive to huge tackle totals.

Hill had three tackles (two solo) in Sunday's 20-12 win over the Jaguars.
Hill isn't putting up huge numbers, but he's easily the most reliable safety in a shaky Baltimore secondary. Since moving into an every-down role, he has 26 tackles (18 solo), one interception and three passes defensed over six games. After character concerns and a six-game suspension forced him to settle for a one-year contract on the cheap, Hill has seemingly re-established some of his value, though he's still unlikely to get a contract that aligns with his on-field ability.

Hill had an interception return for touchdown in Monday's 34-27 win over the Saints.
Hill solidified his role in the starting lineup by providing the type of big play that Baltimore's secondary has been unable to produce all season. Hill only had four tackles (two solo) in the game, but we saw last season what he's capable of doing when not suspended. The Ravens finally have a safety worth of IDP consideration.

Making his first start of the season, Hill recorded six tackles (three solo) in Sunday's 43-23 loss to the Steelers.
Hill made a few nice plays against the run but struggled against the pass, which has largely been the story for all of Baltimore's safeties this season. The playing time has been divided differently in each of the last four games, and while Hill could easily get another start in Week 10, most IDP owners are probably best off steering clear of the Baltimore secondary.

Hill had two tackles (both solo) in his 2014 debut Sunday against the Falcons.
Hill returned from his suspension as part of a four-safety rotation along with Darian Stewart, Matt Elam and Terrence Brooks. Stewart and Brooks each played about two-thirds of the snaps, while Elam and Hill each logged approximately one-third. In addition to holding up well in coverage, Hill made one of his two tackles behind the line of scrimmage, and also hit Matt Ryan hard on a blitz. The Ravens will probably settle on two or three of the four safeties eventually, but it won't be surprising if they stick with the rotation next week in Cincinnati.
Sat Oct 18 201413:56Hill (suspension) added to active roster Saturday
Hill (suspension) was added to the active roster Saturday.
Hill was suspended six games to begin the year for violating the league's substance abuse policy, but he showed enough in his first week back at practice to warrant a return to the active roster. In 12 games with the Giants last season, Hill recorded 77 tackles (60 solo), two interceptions and two forced fumbles, and he could play a significant role right away for Baltimore, perhaps as part of a five-safety rotation.
Fri Oct 17 201412:30As of early Friday afternoon
As of early Friday afternoon, the Ravens still have not activated Hill from his suspension for Sunday's game against the Falcons, the Baltimore Sun's Jeff Zrebiec reports.
Though Hill served his six games, the Ravens have the option to wait until Monday to activate him. With the safety position shaping up as the team's biggest weakness this season, there's been talk that Hill could step right into a significant role, possibly even a starting spot. He needs to be activated Friday or Saturday in order to play in Sunday's game.

Hill could challenge Darian Stewart for a starting safety spot upon return from his six-game suspension for Week 7, The Baltimore Sun reports.
Stewart has been the better of Baltimore's two starting safeties, but Matt Elam still seems less likely to lose his job. Hill was fantastic for the Giants last year, and it won't be surprising if he gets significant playing time as soon as he's eligible. The safety position has been Baltimore's glaring weakness this season.

Fri Jun 6 201410:44Arena League's Rattlers sign S Will Hill
Free agent S Will Hill has signed with the Arena League's Arizona Rattlers.
Hill was handed a six-game suspension for violating the league's substance-abuse policy last week and was waived by the Giants on Monday. He'll stay fresh in the Arena League until he's able to return to the NFL in Week 7. Despite all the off-field issues, we'd be surprised if Hill's NFL career is over.

Former Giants S Will Hill passed through waivers unclaimed.
That's despite a bargain-basement $570,000 salary. Suspended for the first six games of the season, Hill's ability should earn him a deal once his ban is through.

Tue May 13 201409:03Will Hill likely a 'goner' from Giants
The Newark Star-Ledger thinks Will Hill "looks like a goner" from the Giants.
It was recently announced that Hill failed yet another drug test -- his third in three seasons -- and is facing a lengthy suspension. Even though Hill has proven to be extremely talented, he's not worth the headache. The Giants already had plenty of safety depth before also drafting Nat Berhe over the weekend.

Tue Apr 22 201410:23Giants expected to cut ties with FS Will Hill
The New York Daily News reports FS Will Hill is likely "done" with the Giants after failing another drug test.
Hill is facing a lengthy suspension, one that could cost him 6-8 games or an entire calendar year. It'll be Hill's third suspension in as many seasons, though he does plan to appeal. Whether he wins that appeal or not isn't expected to matter in terms of saving his job with the Giants. The team is reportedly "livid" at Hill's continued drug issues. He was PFF's No. 2 overall safety in 2013.
