Thu Feb 17 201108:39Report: Dodgers considering Weaver
SI.com's Jon Heyman reports that the Dodgers are considering bringing back Jeff Weaver.
Weaver, 34, was a solid swingman for the Dodgers in 2009 but posted a 6.09 ERA last season while battling through back and knee ailments. Still, he wouldn't cost much more than the league minimum and might even be willing to spend time at Triple-A if he doesn't crack the opening day roster. He's not a bad guy to have at the tail end of your roster.

Tue Sep 7 201022:16Weaver wants to return, pitch with Dodgers
Jeff Weaver told Dylan Hernandez of the Los Angeles Times that he wants to pitch at least one more season and would prefer to stay with the Dodgers.
That's just swell. Weaver, 34, has appeared in just 38 games this season due to injuries to his back and knee, posting a 4.99 ERA and 24/19 K/BB ratio in 39 2/3 innings. He'll probably have to settle for a spring training invite again.

Dodgers activated RHP Jeff Weaver from the 15-day disabled list.
Weaver was set to start a short rehab assignment Tuesday, but Travis Schlichting has a shoulder injury and needs a DL stint, so the Dodgers couldn't afford to be patient with Weaver. He'll resume his duties as a long reliever.

Sat Aug 21 201011:23Weaver could be activated Saturday
Jeff Weaver (knee) could be activated from the disabled list Saturday.
Weaver, who has been out since the beginning of the month, threw a simulated game Tuesday and will not require a rehab assignment. Dodgers manager Joe Torre said before Friday's game that they may activate Weaver depending on how much the bullpen was used that night, and seeing as how Carlos Monasterios went just 4 1/3 innings, it's a safe bet to assume Weaver will in fact be activated.

"I just have to stay away from jogging and avoid the pounding on it." He had a 5.35 ERA and a 1.46 WHIP in 37 innings of relief before coming down with knee tendinitis.
