Mo Evans is unwilling to sign a non-guaranteed contract, instead holding out for a guaranteed deal.
"I did not entertain any non-guaranteed contracts," Evans said. "I believe there will be opportunities that will manifest after training camp." Evans averaged just 4.9 points on 40.2 percent shooting last season, although he did shoot 37.8 percent from behind the 3-point line.

Fri Sep 14 201209:21Mo Evans still searching for a new contract
Mo Evans is still hoping to sign with a team before training camp.
"Given that I'm a veteran, I know where my value lies," he said. Both Evans and Derek Fisher were names every basketball fan knew this time last season with the lockout, but neither veteran has been able to find work. The Wizards wanted to bring Evans back as a front-office executive, and although he is interested in that in the future, he wants to continue his playing career right now. "I expect myself to be with a team soon."

Wed Jul 25 201208:19Wizards hope to keep Evans, Mason, Singleton
The Wizards hope to re-sign Mo Evans, Roger Mason or James Singleton.
The report states that bringing back the three veterans "remains high on the Wizards' priority list," but it's hard to envision a scenario where all three are back. Regardless, none of the three players listed would emerge with fantasy value so long as everyone remains healthy for the Wizards.

Mon Jun 25 201207:30Mo Evans wants to re-sign with the Wizards
Unrestricted free agent Mo Evans is hoping to re-sign with the Wizards.
"If the opportunity is there to re-sign, I would definitely look to try to take advantage," he said. "I think the future is extremely bright." Should Evans return to the Wizards, look for him to play a similar role as he did last season. Evans was a veteran mentor to the younger guys and could be a good fit in that position. Along with assistant coach Sam Cassell, Evans and Roger Mason Jr. are set to coach the Wizards' summer league team.

Fri Apr 27 201203:25Evans scores season-high 18 points
Mo Evans scored a season-high 18 points in Thursday's blowout win over the Heat, hitting 7-of-13 shots (including two threes) with one steal in 23 minutes.
It's nice to see Evans stretch his legs out during the twilight of his career like this. Chances are, he won't be seeing many lines like this in his future. Morris Almond scored five points with five steals, Shelvin Mack scored six points with seven assists, James Singleton put up four points, eight boards, and three assists, and Nene added 15 points with seven boards, three assists, and two blocks to round out the bench effort.

Tue Feb 28 201223:30Mo Evans scores season-high 15 in loss
Mo Evans started the second half for the Wizards (over Trevor Booker) and had 15 points on 6-of-7 shooting in 20 minutes.
Randy Wittman was mad at his starters and benched three of them to start the second half. Unless Evans starts doing this on a nightly basis, he belongs on waivers in your fantasy league.

Wed Feb 8 201209:31Mo Evans to earn more minutes under Wittman?
Mo Evans played a season-high 15 minutes on Monday and could be in line for an increased role under Randy Wittman.
Evans had his knee drained as the season began, but he says he's been healthy "for a while now." Wittman used the term "stability" to describe what Evans brings to the youthful lineup, and the interim coach has already stated that he'll have no trouble yanking guys off the court who look like they're dogging it on the court.

Fri Jan 6 201207:17Evans calls players only meeting for Wizards
Mo Evans called a players only meeting for the 0-6 Wizards on Thursday.
"The sense of entitlement that's here sometimes, I've never seen before," he said. John Wall said that his team was playing selfish on Thursday, and it's clear that there are some problems both on and off the court for Washington right now. We'll see if it has any impact in the next game on Friday against the Knicks.

Fri Dec 30 201108:48Mo Evans to have MRI on sore right knee
Mo Evans (knee) will receive an MRI on his surgically-repaired knee.
Evans has been unable to practice after his knee experienced pain and swelling. The veteran described the pain as what he felt prior to having surgery in 2010, and he's "fearful" the problem may have returned. It doesn't sound like he's close to returning.

Tue Dec 27 201113:46Mo Evans had his knee drained on Monday
Mo Evans had his knee drained on Monday.
Evans mysteriously didn't see the court on Monday and now we know why that was the case. He didn't practice Tuesday, and it doesn't sound like it should be a serious issue and Evans should be back on the court before long.

Once a high flyer, age and knee injuries have kept him planted on the bench the past few seasons. There will be no late-career revival here for Evans.

Thu Dec 15 201111:44Report: Knicks 'zero' in on adding Mo Evans
The Knicks will "zero in on" Maurice Evans after losing Shawne Williams to the Nets.
New York is offering the full $2.5 million exception for the veteran, who appears to be at the top of the list now that Jamal Crawford and Shawne Williams have been scratched from the list. If he does sign, Evans will get some solid burn considering how shallow the bench is for the Knicks.

Wed Dec 14 201108:18NY Knicks interested in adding Mo Evans
The Knicks have interest in adding Mo Evans.
Evans is a backup plan should the team be unable to land Jamal Crawford or Shawne Williams. The veteran should find a home soon even if it isn't in New York.

Mon Sep 26 201111:09Evans thinks entire NBA season won't be lost
NBPA Vice President Maurice Evans believes that there will be basketball "sometime" between November and January.
Evans isn't really saying anything that we didn't already know, and that's about as candid of an answer as we'd expect at this point. If the two sides don't have an agreement before January, the threat of the entire season being lost will become extremely real.

Mon Aug 29 201109:56Mo Evans terms lockout negotiations "generic"
When asked to pick a single word to describe the current status of the labor negotiations, NBPA Vice President Maurice Evans chose "generic".
"The best word I can use is generic. We've just been going through the motions. We've been meeting really often with the exception of this month. For the past two years we've been meeting and the owners are kind of disingenuous right now with their offers. Hopefully, at some point, they firm up a little bit and give us something to work with." It's pretty clear that the two sides remain a substantial distance apart.

Tue Jul 19 201123:42NBPA VP Maurice Evans looking overseas
NBPA vice president Maurice Evans is talking with Spanish club Real Madrid and Turkish club Anadolu Efes about playing with them this season due to the lockout.
He's a solid pickup for either of those clubs, but this is newsworthy only because of his position with the NBPA. Should he sign a contract to play overseas, it will carry more cachet as a leverage ploy than a signing of an average veteran journeyman.
