Beltre entered camp with little-to-no shot of making the big league roster, so it comes as no surprise that he was reassigned to minor league camp. However, a good display in the minors could lead to a recall at some point should a current member of the outfield get injured.

The White Sox invited Beltre to big league camp Tuesday, the Chicago Tribune reports.

He will replace Michael Taylor in big league camp after Taylor unexpectedly retired. Beltre does not have a shot at the initial big league roster at this point, but he could be up at some point in 2015 if injury strikes the outfield.
