Hamburger was reassigned to minor league camp.
Hamburger made a strong impression this spring with a mid-90s fastball, but struggled at times as he had a 5.59 ERA in 9.2 innings. Still, his 10:2 K:BB ratio in 9.2 innings this spring indicates he could be a top option for the bullpen if a spot opens up in the majors.

Hamburger is in the running for one of Minnesota's final two bullpen spots, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. He has a 7.50 ERA but a strong a 7:1 K:BB ratio in six innings this spring.
Hamburger had one bad outing where he gave up four runs, but otherwise has had a strong spring. He's not on the 40-man roster which likely works against him making the bullpen.

Hamburger re-signed with Minnesota and will get an invitation to big league spring training, Darren Wolfson of ESPN 1500 am Twin Cities reports.
After a 50-game PED suspension in 2013, Hamburger revived his career in 2014 with a 3.69 ERA and 54:27 K:BB ratio in 70.2 innings between Double-A and Triple-A last season. While he struck out over a better per inning at Double-A, he had just a 6.1 K/9 IP rate at Triple-A. While he may get a shot at the big league bullpen in spring training, it's more likely he adds depth at Triple-A and will need injuries to find a role in the majors.
