Willie Eyre halted a throwing session Friday due to groin tightness.
It's not clear at this point how severe the ailment might be. For Eyre's sake, it's hopefully not too severe, as he'll need all the time he can get to impress the Orioles enough to land a spot in the Opening Day bullpen. He was already a longshot even before the injury.

As previously reported, Eyre is taking Chris Tillman's roster spot, and likely isn't long for the majors with Brian Matusz expected to be recalled to start on Tuesday. In 145 1/3 career major-league innings, Eyre has posted a 5.14 ERA and 1.59 WHIP.

RHP Willie Eyre is expected to take Chris Tillman's spot on the Orioles' 25-man roster.
The move will likely only be temporary, as Brian Matusz is expected to take Tillman's place in the Orioles rotation. Signed just nine days ago, Eyre, 33, last appeared in the majors in 2009 as a member of the Rangers. He's posted a 3.31 ERA and 1.42 WHIP in 65 1/3 Triple-A innings this season.
