Sun May 22 201100:58Mike Wilson knocks in two for Mariners
Mike Wilson went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI against the Padres on Saturday.
Wilson had been 1-for-11 since being called up on May 9. The Mariners' plan is to use him strictly against left-handers, though that could always change if he heats up. It's not like Michael Saunders or Carlos Peguero figures to run away with the starting job in left field.

Mon May 9 201112:42Mike Wilson summoned from Triple-A
Mariners purchased the contract of OF Mike Wilson from Triple-A Tacoma.
Wilson isn't really much of a prospect, but he was off to a nice start at Tacoma, batting .381/.429/.683 with four homers. The Mariners are hoping he'll provide some offense to a team desperately seeking it. He figures to get most of his playing time in left field at the expense of Milton Bradley, but he could also see time in the DH spot and in center field when Michael Saunders needs a day off.
