Chavez might prove to be the saving grace of the Brandon Morrow trade for the Mariners. He follwed up at .315/.387/.577 season in A-ball last year with an excellent winter league campaign, and he already has a homer and a double in five at-bats this spring. The 21-year-old hit .315/.387/.577 with 32 home runs and 109 runs scored this year in 136 games at the Single-A level and has an excellent outfield throwing arm.
