The bomb today was his fourth of the season, while he's now up to 24 RBI to go along with a .301 average. He's showing stubborn persistence when it comes to warranting mixed-league ownership.

Corey Patterson hit a walkoff solo homer off Gavin Floyd in a 9-8 win over the White Sox in 14 innings on Saturday.

Thu Apr 28 201117:38Jays' Patterson knocks in go-ahead run
Corey Patterson knocked in the go-ahead run with a squeeze bunt in the ninth and then scored an insurance run as the Jays beat the Rangers on Thursday.
Patterson put down a perfect safety squeeze that resulted in everyone being safe and gave the Jays a 3-2 lead in the ninth. He later scored after Juan Rivera's grounder to third bounced off Adrian Beltre's chest, setting off a weird chain of events. Beltre made a lazy toss to pitcher Darren Oliver after the play, and since Oliver didn't seem to be paying attention, Yunel Escobar took off from second. Patterson, who was on third, didn't budge, forcing Escobar to turn around. Oliver, though, threw the ball into center field trying to retire Escobar, allowing Patterson to score.

A CT scan on Corey Patterson's head came back negative and doctors say the outfielder has no concussion symptoms.
Great news. Patterson was involved in a scary scene Friday night where he was beaned in the back of the head and lay on the ground for several minutes, but it sounds like he's received the best possible news. He'll take a few days off while the Jays' medical staff monitors him.

With the deal comes an invitation to spring training. Patterson, 31, batted .269/.315/.406 with eight homers and 21 steals over 90 games for the Orioles in 2010. He's probably not going to win a spot on Toronto's Opening Day roster, but one injury could vault him into fantasy relevancy.
