Carp has been released by the Dodgers, True Blue LA's Eric Stephen reports.

Carp has bounced around quite a bit over the past few seasons, and he can probably find another organization that gives him a better chance to reach the majors. The Dodgers already have more starting-caliber batters than spots in the lineup.

Carp signed a minor league contract with the Dodgers and will play for Triple-A Oklahoma City, CBSSports.com reports.

Carp will make the equivalent of $1 million for the season if he's called up to the majors. He likely doesn't have a viable path to playing with the Dodgers, however, unless there are several injuries.
