Vasquez signed a minor league contract with the Phillies on Tuesday, Jon Heyman of CBS Sports reports.

Sat Sep 24 201100:19Anthony Vasquez has another bad night
Anthony Vasquez allowed five runs on seven hits and two walks in 3 1/3 innings Friday, falling to 1-5 in Seattle's loss to the Rangers.
Now the owner of a 8.89 ERA and 1.90 WHIP through his first 27 1/3 big-league innings, it's looking pretty safe to say Vasquez won't challenge for a spot in the Mariners' 2012 rotation.

Sun Sep 11 201118:58Anthony Vasquez posts quality start
Anthony Vasquez logged the first quality start of his career Sunday despite picking up a loss, holding the Royals to two runs on seven hits over six frames.
He struck out a pair and hit a batter. It was easily Vasquez's best start since being promoted, but unfortunately for him, he was outdone by Everett Teaford in the unlikely pitcher's duel. The owner of a 7.29 ERA and 1.67 WHIP, Vasquez will start next weekend against the Rangers in a matchup where he should certainly be avoided.

Tue Sep 6 201100:00Anthony Vasquez again allows six runs
Anthony Vasquez allowed seven runs (six earned) on six hits and two walks in 5 2/3 innings on Monday, falling to 1-2 in Seattle's loss to the Angels.
Vasquez has now allowed six runs in each of his three starts since joining the Mariners rotation on August 23. It wouldn't be surprising if tonight finally forces Seattle to abandon its six-man rotation.

Wed Aug 31 201101:11Vasquez ripped for 8 runs by the Angels
Anthony Vasquez allowed eight runs (seven earned) in four innings on Tuesday evening against the Angels.
He gave up seven hits and three walks in the stinker, striking out one. He also gave up a pair of homers. The M's want to give 24-year-old righty Vasquez an extended look while simultaneously easing the workload on the rest of their young starters, which has led them to stick with a six-man rotation. But Vazquez's ERA is now up to 11.57 and he may have earned himself a ticket to Triple-A or the bullpen.

Mon Aug 22 201117:45M's to start Vasquez in DH on Tuesday
The Mariners are expected to call up left-hander Anthony Vasquez to start the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Indians.
He will be added to the roster following the first game. Vasquez, 24, has a 3.57 ERA over 24 starts this season between Double-A Jackson and Triple-A Tacoma, averaging 5.3 K/9 and 2.2 BB/9. This will be his major league debut, so we would avoid him in fantasy leagues.
