Royals claimed RHP Kanekoa Texeira off waivers from the Mariners.
It's a worthwhile move for the Royals. Texeira, a Rule 5 pick over the winter, was designated for assignment earlier this week after posting a 5.30 ERA and 1.71 WHIP over 16 relief appearances with the Mariners. Still, the 24-year-old managed a 2.49 ERA and 1.22 WHIP over four minor league season, so there's potential here.
