The Jets -- who are on bye this week -- have worked out Cadet, ESPN's Rich Cimini reports.
The report hints that bringing Cadet in for a visit could hint at concern regarding the status of pass-catching back Bilal Powell, who suffered a groin injury this past Sunday.
Tue Sep 29 201516:19Cadet released by Patriots on Tuesday
Cadet was released by the Patriots on Tuesday, Ben Volin of the Boston Globe reports.
Cadet was a healthy scratch for Sunday's win over the Jaguars, and the Patriots ultimately decided to add another linebacker (Jon Bostic) over keeping a fifth running back. Cadet's receiving skills could lead to some interest around the league, but he's unlikely to find anything more than a bit role.
Sun Sep 27 201512:03Cadet inactive for Sunday's game against Jaguars
Cadet is inactive for Sunday's game against the Jaguars.
With Cadet inactive, fellow change-of-pace back James White is back in uniform Sunday to work behind LeGarrette Blount and Dion Lewis.

Cadet was on the field for just two of the Patriots' snaps on offense in Sunday's win over the Bills, ESPN's Mike Reiss reports.
In the process, he caught one pass for two yards. For now, Cadet is off the fantasy radar and behind Dion Lewis in the Patriots' change-of-pace pecking order. However, Lewis has put the ball on the ground in two straight games, so if that issue remains a concern down the road, Cadet could possibly make a case for a bigger chunk of the team's third-down backfield touches.
Sun Sep 20 201511:51Cadet (hamstring) listed active for Sunday's game against Bills
Cadet (hamstring) is listed active for Sunday's game against the Bills.
With LeGarrette Blount, Brandon Bolden and fellow change-of-pace back Dion Lewis also in the team's Week 2 backfield mix, Cadet is a speculative play Sunday, though his active status indicates that he is ahead of James White in the Patriots' RB pecking order.

Cadet (hamstring) is probable for Sunday's game against the Bills after practicing fully Friday.
Cadet appears healthy enough to be available for Sunday's contest, though with LeGarrette Blount, Brandon Bolden, Dion Lewis and James White also in the team's backfield mix, it remains to be seen if Cadet will be among the team's actives this weekend.
Wed Sep 16 201517:59Cadet (hamstring) practiced fully Wednesday
Cadet (hamstring) practiced fully Wednesday.
Cadet is thus trending toward being available for Sunday's game against the Bills, though with LeGarrette Blount, Brandon Bolden, Dion Lewis and James White also in the team's backfield mix, it remains to be seen if he will avoid the Patriots' inactive list in Week 2.

Cadet (hamstring) is inactive for Thursday's season-opener against the Steelers.
Listed as questionable on the final injury report, Cadet will now have 10 days to prepare for a Week 2 matchup with the Bills, though good health might not be enough to achieve active status. With LeGarrette Blount suspended, the New England backfield for Thursday's game is comprised of Brandon Bolden, Dion Lewis and James White.

Though Cadet (hamstring) practiced fully this week, the Patriots list him as questionable for Thursday's season opener against the Steelers.
With LeGarrette Blount suspended for Week 1, Brandon Bolden is a candidate to see his share of carries on Thursday, with some combo of Cadet, Dion Lewis and James White in the team's change-of-pace mix. Cadet's questionable designation makes him a risky fantasy roll this week and it's possible that he may be among the team's inactives, given that he is bouncing back from a hamstring issue that slowed him this preseason.
Mon Sep 7 201517:02Cadet (hamstring) practiced fully Monday
Cadet (hamstring) practiced fully Monday, ESPN's Mike Reiss reports.
With LeGarrette Blount suspended for Week 1 and Jonas Gray having been let go by the Patriots, the team will head into Thursday's regular season opener against the Steelers with one "big back" in Brandon Bolden, along with three change-of-pace options in Cadet, Dion Lewis and James White. Given that Cadet is just getting back into the swing of things, how me might be used initially by the Patriots is unclear, thus making him a Week 1 fantasy dart.

Cadet (hamstring) did not suit up for Friday's preseason game against the Panthers, ESPN.com reports.
Cadet is among the Patriots' backs (along with James White, Brandon Bolden and Dion Lewis) hoping to help fill the void created by the departure of Shane Vereen, but injuries have slowed him this summer, which makes his status on that front tough to read at this stage.
Tue Aug 25 201516:53Cadet (hamstring) returned to practice Tuesday
Cadet (hamstring) returned to practice Tuesday, ESPN.com reports.
Per csnne.com, Cadet looked looked good early on in training camp, but at this stage he'll need to compete for change-of-pace slotting with James White and Dion Lewis, while Brandon Bolden (whose special team's prowess will likely earn him a roster spot) is also in the mix on that front.

Cadet (hamstring) did not play in Saturday's preseason game against the Saints.
Cadet is hoping to earn a role on passing downs, but there's plenty of competition and he's now missed the first two preseason games. Dion Lewis and James White both scored rushing touchdowns and had efficient receiving performances Saturday night.

Cadet (hamstring) missed Thursday's preseason opener against the Packers, ESPN.com reports.
With Dion Lewis and Brandon Bolden also sitting out Thursday's game, fellow pass-catching back James White was able to see extended action in the Patriots' backfield. Once Cadet returns to action, he'll have some ground to make up, but he could carve out a change-of-pace role in 2015, with the team looking to fill the void created by the departure of Shane Vereen, last year's primary pass-catching back.

Cadet suffered an apparent left hamstring injury during Saturday's practice, ESPN.com reports.
The report notes that Cadet, who is a candidate to help fill the void created by the offseason departure of pass-catching back Shane Vereen, had displayed speed and good hands in practice prior to suffering his injury. Upon his return to the field, Cadet will continue to compete with the likes of James White, Brandon Bolden and Dion Lewis for work in passing situations out of the Patriots' backfield.
Fri Jun 19 201512:57Cadet
Cadet, who is a candidate to secure a third-down role in the New England offense this coming season, has "has had some good moments" during the team's OTAs and minicamp, the Boston Herald reports.
Cadet will be a player worth monitoring in training camp/preseason action, as he has a chance to help fill the void created by the offseason departure of Shane Vereen. Of course, 2014 fourth-rounder James White is also in the mix on that front, and has impressed thus far, so Cadet will need to open eyes this summer in order to land the team's top third-down role. Dion Lewis is also a candidate for such work, but it would be an upset if he were to overtake both White and Cadet on the team's RB depth depth chart.
Tue Mar 17 201517:27The Patriots have signed Cadet
The Patriots have signed Cadet, ESPN's Mike Reiss reports.
Cadet carried just 10 times for 32 yards in 15 games for the Saints this past season, but he did catch 38 passes for 296 yards and a touchdown in that span, so he'll presumably have an opportunity to help fill the void created by the departure of pass-catching back, Shane Vereen.

Cadet caught two passes on four targets for nine yards in Sunday's season-ending win in Tampa Bay.
In 15 games, Cadet caught 38 passes for 296 yards and a touchdown and also averaged 24 yards per return as the Saints' primary kickoff return man most of the year. Cadet will be a restricted free agent this offseason, so his return to the cap-strapped Saints is up in the air. Should he return and the Saints decide to part ways with veteran pass-catching running back Pierre Thomas, Cadet could be an interesting option in deeper PPR leagues, but he's shown little as a primary ball carrier, with only 11 carries for 37 yards for his career.
Sun Dec 21 201412:07Cadet healthy inactive for Sunday's game against Falcons
Cadet is a healthy inactive for Sunday's game against the Falcons, the Saints' official site reports.
Last week, Cadet broke a streak of 10 consecutive contests with at least two targets, earning a measly two snaps on the evening. The development wasn't all that shocking, though, as the Saints' backfield is now healthy, making him expendable in the grand scheme of things.

Cadet caught two passes on two targetsfor 11 yards in Monday night's loss to the Ravens.
With Pierre Thomas back in action, Cadet was relegated to spot duty. Cadet will continue to serve as the Saints' kickoff return man, but as long as Thomas is healthy, playing time will be sparse for Cadet, making him difficult to rely on for fantasy owners.
