Bowker was dealt to Triple-A Indianapolis for either cash considerations or a player to be named later on Thursday, Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Wed Aug 31 201110:24Phillies acquire OF-1B Bowker from Bucs
Phillies acquired OF-1B John Bowker from the Pirates for a player to be named later or cash considerations.
Bowker will join the Phillies on Wednesday and is eligible for the postseason roster. While the 28-year-old has enjoyed plenty of success in the minor leagues, he has an underwhelming .237/.289/.390 batting line over 609 major league plate appearances. He'll audition as a lefty bench bat during the month of September.

Wed May 4 201114:50Pirates outright OF Bowker to Triple-A
Pirates sent OF John Bowker outright to Triple-A Indianapolis.
Bowker successfully cleared waivers after being designated for assignment last week. He's certainly useful depth to have around at the Triple-A level.

Sun Mar 13 201117:46Pirates' Bowker homers in second straight
John Bowker homered in a second straight game Sunday as part of the Pirates' 9-4 defeat of the Red Sox.
Bowker was a spring training stud for the Giants last year, finishing with six homers and 23 RBI in 77 at-bats. However, it didn't carry over to the regular season and he was sent to Pittsburgh as part of the Javier Lopez deal. So far this spring, he's 6-for-18. There's a reasonable chance that he'd outhit Garrett Jones given the chance, but he'll be fortunate just to earn a spot on Pittsburgh's bench.

Mon Mar 7 201111:41Bowker day-to-day with left wrist soreness
John Bowker is day-to-day with left wrist soreness.
The Pirates think he will be able to resume playing in spring games soon. Bowker, 27, posted a poor .652 OPS across 151 at-bats last season and probably won't be relevant in any sort of fantasy league here in 2011. The Bucs will use him as a backup corner outfielder.

Mon Sep 27 201009:53Bowker expected to return to lineup Monday
John Bowker (knee) is aiming to return to the lineup Monday.
Bowker was lifted from Saturday's game against the Astros because of soreness in his right knee. He reported feeling better on Sunday, though, and probably could have been used as a pinch-hitter. The outfielder is batting .209/.265/.373 with five homers and 17 RBI this season.

Sat Sep 18 201022:55Bowker goes 3-for-4 with homer in win
John Bowker went 3-for-4 with a homer and two RBI in Saturday's home victory over the Diamondbacks.
Bowker is expected to see an increase in playing time now that Lastings Milledge is sidelined, and he got off to a good start Saturday. Still, the guy is batting .205 on the year and is not fantasy-relevant.
Fri Jun 4 201016:27Giants demote OF Bowker
Giants optioned outfielder John Bowker to Triple-A Fresno.
Bowker can hit, but if the Giants weren't willing to give him an extended opportunity this year, they probably never will. The 26-year-old was batting .207/.256/.354 in 82 at-bats for the season.
Fri May 21 201001:03Giants' Bowker homers in loss
Making his second start in 18 days, John Bowker went 2-for-3 with a solo homer and a sac fly Thursday.
We'd like to see Bowker starting against righties with Mark DeRosa out, but the Giants had been playing Andres Torres instead. Odds are that he will make at least a couple of more starts this weekend with the Giants playing in Oakland and the DH available.
Wed Apr 21 201000:58Giants' Bowker goes hitless in loss
Back in the lineup after three days off, John Bowker went 0-for-4 on Tuesday.
Bowker was hardly the only Giant to struggle in the 1-0 loss, but his owners should be awfully concerned. Not only is he hitting just .176, but the Giants may feel they have extra need for Nate Schierholtz's glove in right field since they no longer have Aaron Rowand covering center. For what it's worth, Bowker played left field tonight with Mark DeRosa sitting out.
Sun Apr 4 201014:41Bowker gets starting RF nod in SF
Manager Bruce Bochy announced Sunday that John Bowker will start in right field for San Francisco on Opening Day.
Riding a hot spring, Bowker beat out Nate Schierholtz for the job. Both players have their flaws, however, and Schierholtz has had a longer track record of success against major league pitching. Bowker may yet lose this job right back once the games begin for real. This situation bears watching in deeper fantasy leagues.
