Wolf signed a minor league contract with the Rangers that includes an invite to spring training, the Dallas Morning News reports.
After one season pitching for the SK Wyverns of the Korea Baseball Organization, Wolf will return to the States, with an opportunity to compete for a spot in the Rangers' bullpen as a non-roster invitee. The right-hander posted a 4.85 ERA over 85.1 innings last season, but that was close to 100 points below the league average in the KBO (5.83 ERA), which introduced a livelier baseball in 2014.

Charlie Wilmoth of MLB Trade Rumors reports that Ross Wolf has exercised an out clause in his contract and will accept a deal to join the SK Wyverns in the Korean Baseball Organization.
The 31-year-old right-hander registered a 4.15 ERA, 1.53 WHIP and 21/15 K/BB ratio in 47 2/3 innings for the Rangers in 2013. Rather than attempting to compete for a bullpen spot in spring training, Wolf has opted for a guaranteed job with the Wyverns.

Ross Wolf was torched for seven runs in two-plus innings by the Orioles on Saturday.
Nothing much went right for Wolf tonight; he gave up four hits in the first, two in the second and three in the third before being pulled. He pitched well in his two previous spot starts, but this one was bad enough to perhaps get him sent back to the pen.

Ross Wolf gave the Rangers a quality start Thursday, allowing two runs and three hits over six innings against the Orioles.
It wasn't enough in a game in which the Rangers were held to one run, but Wolf did his job in his spot start, just as he did in his first back on June 8. He might get more chances after the break.

Neil Ramirez was also under consideration to fill in for Yu Darvish, but the Rangers will give the nod to the guy that's already pitched well at the big league level this season. Wolf boasts a 1.95 ERA over 27 2/3 frames, but he's not an enticing fantasy play.

Mon Jul 8 201318:14Ross Wolf or Josh Lindblom to start Wed.
The Rangers will start either Ross Wolf or Josh Lindblom on Wednesday in Baltimore.
The club needs a starter with Nick Tepesch (elbow) on the DL and Alexi Ogando (shoulder) not ready to return yet. Lindblom is more stretched out, but Wolf has pitched well of late, posting a 1.40 ERA over his last 19 1/3 innings. The Rangers will announce a decision later Monday.

Wed May 22 201317:04Ross Wolf records first major league victory
Ross Wolf allowed one run in five innings Wednesday against the A's to pick up his first big-league win.
Wolf entered the day 0-1 in 25 career appearances, all in relief. The journeyman was drafted by the Marlins way back in 2002, and his previous major league appearances had come with the Marlins in 2007 and the A's in 2010. He's probably going to head back to Triple-A now, but he put himself in position for another callup later with the nice showing.

He'll make the start Wednesday in place of Nick Tepesch, who was scratched due to a blister on his finger. Wolf has a 1.85 ERA and 25/9 K/BB ratio in 34 innings this season in Triple-A. The 30-year-old is likely to head right back down to the minors, so he's not worth chasing in most fantasy leagues.
