Fri May 7 201016:13Giants call up INF Rohlinger
Giants recalled infielder Ryan Rohlinger from Triple-A Fresno.
Rohlinger was hitting .333/.442/.506 and playing a lot more shortstop than third base in Triple-A. Considering that Juan Uribe has showed little range in his starts at shortstop this year, it might make sense for the Giants to keep him at second and play Rohlinger in Edgar Renteria's place for now. Rohlinger is a natural third baseman, but with Emmannuel Burriss injured as usual, the Giants don't have a legitimate backup shortstop in the organization.
