Bowe is listed as inactive prior to Sunday's matchup with the Ravens.
Bowe saw some game action Week 4 against San Diego, but proved to be far down the list in the pecking order for targets under quarterback Josh McCown. Despite the big offseason contract, Bowe has been targeted just twice this season, as various injuries have limited the 6-2 wideout through the first four weeks. His absence Sunday doesn't appear to be injury-related, however, so it wouldn't be wise to expect much fantasy production from Bowe moving forward.
Mon Oct 5 201512:35Bowe not targeted in Sunday's loss to Chargers
Bowe was not targeted in Sunday's loss to the Chargers.
Bowe made the active roster for just the second time this season, but was truly a non-factor in the passing attack. He did see a few snaps, but was dominated by Travis Benjamin, Andrew Hawkins and Taylor Gabriel in terms of playing time. Even with Brian Hartline (thigh) limited in the contest, it appears the Browns preferred to go with Gabriel over their $9 million man. Even though the Browns were forced to call nearly twice as many pass plays as run plays Sunday, Bowe did not have a role, which doesn't bode well for his fantasy value moving forward.

Bowe is listed as active Sunday against the Chargers.
Bowe could end up working his way back into fantasy relevance in the coming weeks, but we'd like to see him get a full and productive outing in before recommending him as a lineup option.

Coach Mike Pettine indicated that Bowe is expected to be active Sunday against the Chargers, the Akron Beacon-Journal reports.
Bowe was inactive last Sunday against the Raiders despite not being listed on the Browns' injury report. That said, offensive coordinator John DeFilippo suggested that Bowe -- who dealt with a hamstring issue before his season debut in Week 2 -- was held out because of an injury. In any case, while Bowe could end up providing the Browns will some return on their $9 million (guaranteed) investment in time, we'd like to see the wideout get a full and productive game in before recommending him as more than a roster stash.

According to ESPN Cleveland's Tony Grossi, Bowe is a healthy scratch for Sunday's matchup against the Raiders.
Bowe wasn't listed on the Browns' Week 3 injury report, although many surrounding the situation believed that the hamstring injury that bothered him early in the year may still be lingering a bit. With no official record of that ailment, however, one must believe that the veteran wideout could have suited up had the coaching staff deemed it necessary. Instead, Josh McCown and the Browns will turn to a group of receivers led by Andrew Hawkins and Travis Benjamin.

Offensive coordinator John DeFilippo indicated Thursday that he doesn't think Bowe (hamstring) is 100 percent healthy just yet, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
While Bowe is not listed on the Browns' Week 3 injury report, DeFilippo suggested Thursday that the Browns might be inclined to limit Bowe for the time being in order to avoid an aggravation of the wideout's hamstring issue. With that in mind, a wait-and-see approach remains in order from a fantasy perspective, at least until Bowe turns in a productive outing in a Cleveland uniform.

Bowe saw just one target Sunday against the Titans, and failed to record a catch.
Quarterback Johnny Manziel completed just eight passes the whole game, as the Browns were more than content to focus on running the ball and playing defense. Travis Benjamin was Manziel's target of the choice when the Browns did look downfield, leaving Bowe's role in the team's offense in question. It's possible Bowe was limited by a hamstring injury that had been bothering him all week, but it's tough to see him carving out a huge role even when at full health.

Bowe (hamstring) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Titans.
Per Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Bowe had a good week of practice, but initially, a wait-and-see approach is in order from a fantasy perspective, until the wideout's role in the Cleveland offense is solidified.

Bowe (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Titans, the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Bowe's status for Sunday's game against the Titans has yet to be confirmed though a wait-and-see approach is in order from a fantasy perspective, at least until his role in the Browns' offense is established.
Thu Sep 17 201518:05Bowe (hamstring) limited at practice again Thursday
Bowe (hamstring) was limited at practice again Thursday, Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Michael Beaven of the Akron Beacon Journal relays that Bowe is "feeling pretty confident (he) can go out on Sunday and play," though in such a scenario a wait-and-see approach remains in order until the wideout's role in the offense is solidified.

Bowe (hamstring) was limited at practice Wednesday, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Coach Mike Pettine indicated that Bowe suffered a minor setback with his hamstring injury last week, which resulted in the wideout being inactive in Week 1. At this stage, Bowe's status for Sunday's game against the Titans is unclear, though a wait-and-see approach is in order, in any case, until his role in the Cleveland offense is established.

Coach Mike Pettine indicated that Bowe suffered a minor setback with his hamstring injury last week, Tom Withers of the Associated Press reports. "It's frustrating, you want him out there," Pettine said of the veteran wideout.
In any case, Bowe is temporarily off the fantasy radar, though once he regains his health, an ascent up the Browns' depth chart is a plausible outcome that would carry with it a return to some degree of fantasy utility.
Sun Sep 13 201511:32Dwayne Bowe: (Hamstring) Inactive Sunday
Bowe (hamstring) is inactive for Sunday's regular season opener against the Jets, ESPN's Tony Grossi reports.
Bowe was a limited participant in practice this week, but consistently expressed confidence in suiting up for the opener. That won't come to pass, however, as several sources Sunday morning indicated that the wideout would be inactive. Listed as the third-string receiver on the first official team depth chart, Bowe has lost ground in the pecking order for targets after being limited by injury for the better part of camp. He still has plenty of time to make up ground, but it won't be while on the field in Week 1.

Bowe (hamstring) will be inactive Sunday against the Jets, sources told Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Bowe is listed as questionable on the injury report and had said Friday he expects to play, so this report isn't official. We'll wait for confirmation when inactives are announced later Sunday.

Though Bowe (hamstring) was limited at practice Friday and is listed as questionable, the wideout indicated Friday that he expects to play Sunday against the Jets, the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
We'll confirm his status either way, in advance of Sunday's 1:00 ET kickoff, though the hamstring issue that slowed Bowe leading up to Week 1 could result in him gradually being worked into the team's offense. With that in mind, for now at least, Brian Hartline and Andrew Hawkins remain listed as the Browns' starters at wideout on the team's posted depth chart.

Browns offensive coordinator John DeFilippo said he expects Bowe (hamstring) to be "a big part of what we're doing", the team's official website reports.
Head coach Mike Pettine and offensive coordinator John DeFilippo have both suggested that Bowe is only listed as a third-stringer on the depth chart because he missed so much of training camp and the preseason with a hamstring injury. It seems Bowe should still have a role in the offense, but he's not an appealing Week 1 option and doesn't have much season-long upside. Furthermore, he still seems to be a bit nicked up, as he was limited at practice both Wednesday and Thursday, according to Tom Withers of the Associated Press.
Wed Sep 9 201519:36Bowe (hamstring) limited at practice Wednesday
Bowe (hamstring) was limited at practice Wednesday, the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
While we wouldn't necessarily overreact to Bowe being listed as a third-string wideout on the most recent version of the Browns' depth chart, that he's listed that way, as well as being banged up, does not inspire a great amount of optimism with regard to his Week 1 fantasy prospects. For now, anyway, Brian Hartline and Andrew Hawkins are listed as the team's starters at wide receiver.
Tue Sep 8 201512:12Dwayne Bowe: (Hamstring) Not Listed As Starter
Bowe (hamstring) is not listed as a starter on the Browns' Week 1 depth chart, Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Bowe was plagued by injury and ineffectiveness during training camp, and his standing on the Browns' initial depth chart for the regular season reflects that. Bowe could potentially move into the starting lineup when he proves he is healthy, but Brian Hartline and Andrew Hawkins are listed as the Browns' starting receivers for Week 1.

Browns head coach Mike Pettine said Bowe (hamstring) will not be released, Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Bowe started and played into the second half of Thursday's preseason game against the Bears, finishing with one catch for eight yards on two targets. While this obviously doesn't bode well for his involvement during the upcoming season, it's still quite possible Bowe will be a Week 1 starter. In a move they presumably already regret, the Browns signed him to a two-year, $13 million contract, including $9 million guaranteed, during the offseason.
Thu Sep 3 201519:08Dwayne Bowe: (Hamstring) Starting Thursday
Bowe (hamstring) will start Thursday's preseason finale at Chicago, Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Rumors swirled prior to the game that Bowe needs to impress to emerge from the final round of cuts with a spot on the Browns' 53-man roster, according to Anthony Lima of cleveland.cbslocal.com. In his only preseason appearance Saturday, Bowe failed to gather in any of his three targets, meaning he needs to make at least some impression Thursday. Considering he inked a two-year contract with the Browns in the offseason, his failure to make the roster wouldn't bode well for a gig elsewhere down the road.
