I feel bad for him."

Doubront allowed four runs on five hits and four walks over six innings in a no decision Monday against the Angels. He struck out four.
Doubront has been prone to lose his control since coming over to Oakland, as this is the third time he has walked at least four batters in just 10 starts. Doubront has a career 3.82 BB/9 and this inconsistent control has been a big reason why he has yet to stick as a starter. His ERA sits at 5.57.

Doubront (3-3) was lit up over 4.2 innings Wednesday, giving up seven earned runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out four in a 10-3 loss to the Rangers.
Doubront hasn't been fooling anyone lately, pitching to an 8.33 ERA over his last five starts. The Athletics aren't in contention for a playoff spot, opening the door for Doubront to receive starts despite repeated poor performances. Once regarded as a top prospect, Doubront's 6.72 K/9 and 4.37 FIP suggest he's not worth monitoring for fantasy purposes.

Doubront pitched well Friday in a no-decision, allowing three runs on five hits and a walk across six innings in a win over the Astros. He struck out four.
This looked like a disaster outing in the making with all the strong righty bats in the Astros order, but Doubront did very well to allow only six base runners. Doubront has very little upside for fantasy purposes and will likely have trouble finding his way into a rotation come next season. In any case, he'll finish the year in the A's rotation and start next Thursday against the Rangers, a team who blew him up to the tune of seven runs in his previous start.

Doubront (3-2) struggled Sunday, allowing seven runs on seven hits and two walks, while striking out five batters through 4.1 innings in a 12-4 loss to the Rangers.
Doubront was victimized by Adrian Beltre ,who hit a two-run home run in the fourth inning and a three-run home run in the fifth inning to account for most of the damage on the lefty's stat line. In 57.2 innings, Doubront is posting a 4.99 ERA to go along with a 1.53 WHIP and 40:18 K:BB --- cringe-worthy numbers for fantasy owners. The 27-year-old will look to change that outlook when he takes the mound against the Astros next.

Doubront improved to 3-1 as he allowed four runs on eight hits and a walk over six innings Monday against Houston. He struck out three.
Doubront lasted six strong innings but collapsed in the seventh, as he was tagged for just his third home run of the season by Jonathan Villar and then allowed a single before he was lifted at just 88 pitches. Doubront hasn't completed the seventh inning in eight starts this year, and he'll need to prove he can do that if he's going to be a viable starter down the line.

Doubront allowed four runs on seven hits and four walks over six innings but picked up the win Monday against the Angels. He struck out five.
Doubront has been much better since coming over to the Athletics, as he owns a 3.28 ERA and 22 strikeouts in 24.2 innings with his new team. However, he has now walked 11 batters, with 10 of those coming in his previous three starts. He now has a 3.99 ERA with 35 strikeouts against 16 walks in 47.1 total innings this year.
Sat Aug 29 201500:58Felix Doubront: (Foot) Start Pushed To Monday
Doubront's start has been pushed back to Monday, CSN California's Joe Stiglich reports.
Manager Bob Melvin said Doubront needs a couple extra days for his ailing foot, setting him up for a two-start week next week. Aaron Brooks will be recalled a couple days ahead of schedule to pitch Saturday against the Diamondbacks.

Doubront (foot) ran and threw Wednesday, putting him on track to make his start Saturday against the Diamondbacks, Jane Lee of MLB.com reports.
Doubront's foot injury forced him out of Monday's start, but it appears the issue has mostly subsided. Assuming something doesn't pop up within the next few days, he should be in line to make his scheduled start.
Mon Aug 24 201523:21Felix Doubront: (Foot) Pulled From Start
Doubront left Monday's game against the Mariners after just two innings with a right foot contusion.
Doubront never seemed comfortable on the mound Monday despite racking up four strikeouts during his short start. He's headed for an MRI that should provide some clarity into his status and Oakland is undoubtedly hoping for negative results, especially since it was announced earlier Monday that fellow starter Kendall Graveman (oblique) will likely miss the remainder of the season.

Doubront has likely earned himself another start with the Athletics, Jane Lee of MLB.com reports.
Doubront allowed just one unearned run in six innings of work Tuesday against the Dodgers, enough of a performance to get a second chance. Monday against the Mariners would be his next scheduled start day, but it sounds as though it's not completely confirmed at this point.

Doubront allowed just one unearned run over six innings in a no decision Tuesday against the Dodgers. He struck out eight and walked six.
Doubront hasn't had a walk issue all year -- he is walking just 1.6 per nine innings and hadn't walked more than two batters in any of his five previous starts. Eight strikeouts marks a season high and outdueled his counterpart Tuesday, Clayton Kershaw. Doubront's ERA is down to 3.89 and he has 26 strikeouts against 12 walks in 39.1 innings.
Mon Aug 17 201517:34Doubront will start Tuesday against Dodgers
Doubront will start Tuesday against the Dodgers, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
There had been plenty of speculation that Doubront would draw the starting assignment Tuesday opposite Clayton Kershaw, and the A's confirmed as much Monday afternoon. Doubront tossed a quality start last week in his second appearance with Oakland, holding the high-powered Toronto lineup to two runs on five hits over 6.1 innings. He did not, however, record a single strikeout in the start.
