Hacker won 16 games for the Giants' Triple-A Fresno affiliate this year despite posting an ERA of 4.51 and a WHIP of 1.47. The 27-year-old righty has registered only three career big-league appearances and has only an outside shot at landing a bullpen spot on the Twins' 2011 roster.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, the Giants are considering right-hander Eric Hacker for Todd Wellemeyer's rotation spot.
Hacker, 27, was inked to a minor league contract this winter and is 7-1 with a 2.20 ERA, 12 walks and 38 strikeouts in 45 innings this season at Triple-A Fresno. He threw seven shutout innings in his last start. Wellemeyer, meanwhile, is 2-4 with a 5.71 ERA and a 1.46 WHIP in eight outings.
