RHP Steve Johnson failed to get an out while facing three batters in Sunday's sixth inning. Johnson gave up two walks and a single, while all three runners eventually came around to score. Johnson entered the game with a season ERA of 2.87; by Sunday night, his ERA had swelled to 4.60.

RHP Steve Johnson had another scoreless outing, his ninth in a row. Johnson came on in the seventh inning of Monday' sgame and got a strikeout to strand a runner on second base. His ERA fell to 0.79 this season.

RHP Steve Johnson earned his first win in almost three years Wednesday, when he was credited with the victory against Tampa Bay. Johnson last won a game in May 2013, when he was serving as a long reliever with the Orioles.

RHP Steve Johnson was called up from Triple-A Tacoma on Tuesday, taking the roster spot of RHP Tony Zych, who went on the 15-day disabled list. Johnson signed a minor league contract the Mariners on March 17, three days after being released by Texas. He pitched 16 innings of relief for Tacoma, posting a 2.25 ERA with 20 strikeouts and two walks. Johnson was 5-1 with a 4.25 ERA in 27 major league appearances, including five starts, for Baltimore before making his Mariners debut Tuesday in an 8-2 loss to Oakland. He pitched the ninth inning, giving up a solo homer t LF Khris Davis field. "It's obviously awesome to get called up," Johnson said before the game.

The Orioles purchased Johnson's contract on Tuesday.

Johnson, who was placed on the taxi squad Monday, will join the Orioles on Tuesday as part of September roster expansion. He has not appeared at the major league level this season, but he did post a 2.30 ERA over 54.2 innings at Triple-A Norfolk this season. He only made three starts there this season as opposed to 13 last year, so he'll likely fill in as a bullpen option for the Orioles this month.

The Orioles plan to purchase Johnson's contract Tuesday, MASN Sports reports.

Johnson is putting the finishing touches on a solid season at Triple-A. He has been healthy for all but a month of this season, picking up a 2.30 ERA and 1.08 WHIP in long relief in the bullpen. Johnson went two or more innings 19 times at Triple-A this year. The Orioles will probably relegate Johnson to mop up duty while conserving other arms initially as long as the Orioles perceive they are in contention. Johnson's role could change if the team hangs it up on its 2015 season.

Johnson is on Baltimore's radar for a September callup, MASN's Roch Kubatko reports.

Johnson has allowed three runs in 19.1 innings since returning from an oblique injury July 3. Baltimore would need to clear a spot on the 40-man roster in order to add Johnson, so the move is certainly not a given.

Johnson (oblique) has allowed two runs in 5.1 innings over four relief outings since returning from his oblique injury earlier this month.

Johnson now has a 3.41 ERA on the season at Triple-A. It is possible he receives a call to the Orioles in September, but a chance of pitching in the majors this season is anything but guaranteed.

Johnson (oblique) was placed on Triple-A Norfolk's disabled list on Monday, Roch Kubatko of MASN reports.

Johnson's injury is retroactive to June 18 and is more serious than originally anticipated. He hasn't pitched in the majors since 2013, when he held a 7.47 ERA in 15.2 innings. This season for Triple-A Norfolk, he has a 3.41 ERA in 29 innings with a 40:12 K:BB ratio.

Johnson has not pitched since June 7 due to soreness in his side, MASN Sports reports.

An MRI came back clean for Johnson, so he should be able to return soon. Johnson had dominated his way through April and was being considered for a promotion to the Orioles, but he had a string of four outings where he gave up multiple runs in May. Johnson had pitched four scoreless innings in June before the injury.

Johnson could be an option for Baltimore's bullpen after a strong performance at Triple-A in April, MASN Sports reports.

Johnson not surprisingly did not make Baltimore's roster out of spring training, but he has been stellar at Triple-A, allowing one run in 11 innings with 16 strikeouts. Baltimore's bullpen has been a disappointment aside from Zach Britton and Darren O'Day, but it is still fairly early to make sweeping changes. If a change is made, Johnson is a definite possibility.

Johnson did not make Baltimore's final roster, according to MASN Sports.

Johnson was not expected to make the Orioles and he probably is not even among the first couple of candidates to come up if a Baltimore pitcher gets hurt early. Instead, Johnson will need to impress during the early part of the season in order to get an opportunity to pitch at the top level. Johnson allowed three earned runs in four innings this spring and appears headed for Triple-A.

Johnson (shoulder, finger) threw in his first spring training game Friday and allowed an unearned run on a hit and a walk with two strikeouts.

Johnson took him time getting back from a finger injury, but the shoulder is the real concern with him after having trouble during almost all of the 2014 season. There is an outside shot for Johnson to win a roster spot this spring, likely in the bullpen.

Johnson (finger, shoulder) took Thursday off and is expected to pitch in a game Friday or Saturday, MASN Sports reports.

Johnson threw Wednesday and took one day of full rest Thursday. The timeline for his return has been pushed back just a bit, but it is still early in spring training and Johnson has a chance to pitch in plenty of games the rest of the way.

Johnson (shoulder, finger) should be ready to pitch in one of Thursday's split-squad games, MASN Sports reports.

Johnson was originally supposed to throw Wednesday, but he took one more day to work out on the side. Johnson is returning from shoulder surgery last season and jammed his finger just over a week ago.
