Correia has yet to get through six innings in his five starts since joining the Phillies. He is 0-3 with a 6.56 ERA and a 14:8 K:BB ratio in 23.1 innings.

Correia was charged with three runs (one earned) in 5.1 innings Sunday against the Nationals in Game 1 of a doubleheader, giving up seven hits and three walks while striking four.

He had struggled in his last two starts, and while Sunday's performance was by no means spectacular and he did take the loss, Correia at least held his own. The 34-year-old was undone by poor defense from outfielder Jeff Francoeur in the fifth inning, who misplayed a line drive that ultimately led to the Nationals' first run. It's uncertain if Correia will stick in the rotation upon Chad Billingsley's return from the DL.

Correia will start Game 1 of Sunday's double-header against the Nationals, Stephen Gross of The Morning Call reports.

Philadelphia won't push back Correia's start as a result of Saturday's rainout, so he'll still be on the mound Sunday against the Nationals. He'll be going against Stephen Strasburg in the opening game of the double header, marking his first start against Washington this season. Correia was touched up by the Yankees in his last outing, allowing five earned runs on eight hits through four innings of work.

Just signed earlier this week, it was quite a first outing for the veteran, however both the Pirates and his team failed to put up a tally until Pittsburgh scored in the bottom of the 13th inning. Despite the initial success, it should be remembered that Correia compiled a 7-17 record with a 5.44 ERA between the Twins and Dodgers last season, so it might be prudent to see how his next start or two goes before hitting the waiver wire.

Correia will report to extended to spring training to get stretched after pitching in relief with the Mariners in spring training.

Correia is expected to move back to the bullpen on a more permanent basis following Hyun-Jin Ryu's (leg) activation from the 15-day DL on Sunday.

The Dodgers had already tipped off Correia's return to the bullpen by using him in relief Friday against the Padres. He figures to see mostly mop-up duty for the Dodgers during non-competitive games, which will sink most of his fantasy value since he'll have more difficulty picking up wins.

Correia has allowed 10 earned runs in three starts since coming over from the Twins. The three innings is the lowest he's pitched in a game since April 25. If he continues this poor streak, he might lose a spot in this Dodgers rotation.

After an less-than inspiring year with the Twins, Correia has so far done the job in his two outings with the Dodgers, getting victories in both his starts. Correia has a 4.09 ERA and 11:2 K:BB ratio with the Dodgers. Still, we need more of a sampling size with his new team before we can fully trust Correia. His next start is set for Sunday at home against the Mets.

Correia will start Tuesday in place of Hyun-Jin Ryu (glute), David Vassegh of AM 570 Los Angeles reports.
