Tue Sep 13 202220:49Ryan Webb Impressing In Single-A
Cleveland Guardians pitching prospect Ryan Webb is a 24-year-old southpaw who was selected in the fourth round of the 2021 draft. He has looked solid through his first season of pro ball, though he does need to work on reducing his walk rate. The Roswell, Ga., native boasts a mid-90s fastball and has a great feel for his changeup. He also has a pair of strong breaking ball offerings, with his curveball leading the way thanks to its impressive vertical drop. Webb made two outings in Single-A this past week. He combined for nine scoreless innings, allowing seven runs and three walks while earning one win. However, without a doubt, his best stat was strikeouts: Webb fanned a whopping 17 batters along the way, including 10 in his start on Wednesday. He's still a long way from reaching the majors, but there's no denying that the lefty has impressive strikeouts stuff.

RHP Ryan Webb was designated for assignment Monday after giving up four runs on five hits in an inning in Sunday's loss. He'll likely clear waivers and be sent to the minors, but losing a spot on the 40-man roster isn't good, given the overall inconsistency of the Rays' bullpen of late.

The Indians called up Webb from Triple-A Columbus on Wednesday.

Webb signed a minor-league contract with the Indians on Monday and will report to Triple-A Columbus.
Webb didn't take long to latch on with a new organization after being released by the Dodgers earlier in the day. The right-hander will first showcase himself in the minors before potentially earning an appointment to the Indians' bullpen. He posted a 3.83 ERA and 1.25 WHIP over 49.1 innings with the Braves last season.

Webb was outrighted to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Sunday, Mark Saxon of ESPN reports.

Webb has not yet joined the Dodgers and may not be with the team until after this weekend's series against Arizona, MLB.com's Mark Saxon reports.
Webb was traded from Baltimore to Los Angeles on Thursday but he is apparently not quite ready to join his new team. He will presumably join the Dodgers' bullpen by sometime next week, but look for Webb to be used in low-leverage situations for as long as he is with the big league club.
Thu Apr 9 201517:12Webb acquired by Dodgers in trade with Orioles
Webb has been acquired by the Dodgers in a trade with the Orioles, Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register reports.
Webb made the Orioles' Opening Day roster, but he was then designated for assignment after the first game. If the Dodgers want him for the major-league roster, Webb will likely just work as a middle reliever.
Mon Apr 6 201511:56Webb designated for assignment prior to Monday's game
Webb was designated for assignment prior to Monday's game, MASN Sports reports.
The Orioles likely kept Webb around while trying to trade him, but in the end the team wanted to get Ryan Lavarnway on the roster. Webb can be claimed by another team or the Orioles can still trade him, or he could accept an assignment to Triple-A.
Sun Apr 5 201519:38Webb made Baltimore's final roster cut Sunday
Webb made Baltimore's final roster cut Sunday, MASN Sports reports.
The move to keep Webb is a bit of a surprise. However, the Orioles kept 14 pitchers and will have to drop one after Opening Day when Chris Davis returns from the one game of suspension he has remaining. Webb appears to be the odd man out and he would be exposed to waivers at that time. Webb allowed five runs in 6.2 innings this spring.

Webb allowed two runs Thursday and he is not expected to survive Baltimore's final roster cuts, MASN Sports reports.
Webb dealt with some swelling in his knee earlier this spring and he has allowed five runs in 6.2 innings in the Grapefruit League. He is out of options, so the Orioles may try to find a trade partner. Otherwise, Webb would be exposed to waivers before he could accept an assignment at Triple-A.
